How Policeman Almost Killed A Nigerian Over Land [VIDEO]
A police officer attached to AIC Limited, a firm owned by popular Nigerian businessman turned politician, Harry Akande, on Tuesday threatened to “gun down” a fellow Nigerian who is a staff of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
The situation turned dirty at a stage as both parties stood their grounds, leading to one of the policemen working for Harry Akande almost taking the life of a government employee…
The ugly incident, which unfolded at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, played out when Harry Akande’s company tried to “illegally” reclaim a land which it leased out to FAAN and later ended up as FAAN’s property, according to a court judgement.
Anyway, in a statement, the General Manager of Aviation parastatals, Yakubu Datti, said Justice Buba of the Federal High Court in Lagos ruled in favour of FAAN on June 19, 2013.
In his judgement, Justice Buba ruled that the arbital tribunal that awarded $48.124 million to Harry Akande’s company, AIC, acted outside its jurisdiction, mis-conducted itself by rendering the final award. He declared the award null and void.
Yakubu Datti stated that Mr. Akande had in January forcefully invaded the said land with some thugs and succeeded in driving FAAN staff on the site away. But it seems FAAN has the upper hand this time.
OluFamous.Com gathered that officials of FAAN later bulldozed their way into the land, pulled down the gates and commenced work. Harry Akande may return to court for the next face of the battle.
Anyway, I just hope the authorities will caution that policeman threatening to shoot an harmless civilian?
