Movie Producers Gang Up Against Tonto Dikeh Over Her Rude Attitude

What has #PokoBaby done again? Actress Tonto Dikeh’s acting may be going south following threats from some movie producers and director to relegate her to the background as a result of what they described as her rude conduct recently at a location in Asaba.

“That little brat, apart from her addictions to marijuana, doesn’t give a damn about whose ox is gored, she abuses, throw tantrums and fights on set at any slightest provocation and we must make sure she’s humiliated.
"She seems to have gathered too much weight and has hurriedly forgotten those days when she used to go on bended knees for a ‘waka pass’ role in movies. We’ll teach her a lesson."

According to sources, Tonto Dikeh who was playing a lead role in a movie at a location in Asaba, provoked the anger of a top movie director by her unbecoming display on set.

The director hasn’t stopped telling everyone his nasty experience at the hands of the controversial actress.
According to the director who craved anonymity: “Tonto Dikeh is such a rot and lacks every bit of home training, apologies to her parents. I tried to control myself in order not to disrupt the set, but I got upset over the kind of insults Tonto heaped on the makeup artist on the set; a woman old enough to be her mother.
"She liberally used words like, ‘Are you stupid, don’t you know what you are supposed to do? Must I remind you before you’ll know you are supposed to make me up?’ on the woman who was at the verge of throwing back some punch lines at her.”

Consequently, a group of directors and producers have decided not to feature the actress who currently is not even in good terms with many actress, due to her recent outburst on the social media.
Humm...serious trouble for #PokoBaby!

Husbands Will Be Scarce By 2023 – Women group

The National Council of Catholic Women Organisation of Nigeria on Thursday warned against the alarming drop of male-child in education.
With the drop, the group noted that in the next 10 years, there would be a scarcity of quality husbands in the country.

The organisation National President, Chief Felicia Onyeabo, stated this on Thursday at a briefing to herald the inauguration of Cor Mariae college, Abuja. The inauguration holds on Friday (today).
She said, “The future of this country is going to be very bleak for the male-child. How many girls do you see hawking clothes? Go to Onitsha, they are all men. We have looked round and have come to see that there is a neglect of boys in education. Who are the armed robbers on the streets? They are mostly the boys. Let us concentrate on training boys.

“The NCCWO feels that a vacuum is being created, and very soon, we shall be faced with a situation where our educated girl-child will not find a corresponding suitable boy-child to marry. This is because more boys drop out of school, apparently because the high rate of unemployed youth discourages our young boys from appreciating the need to be educated.

“The NCCWO also consideres the fact that in the near future, quality husbands will become extremely scarce, with too many highly educated women looking for husbands, and settling for anyhow husbands, just to get married. The result of this type of situation is better imagined and will not augur well for Nigerians.”

Dear readers, is this postulation true? Let's have your opinion.

Una Don Hear Dis One? Kenyan Lawyer Sues Israel For Killing Jesus

The state of Israel is being sued by a Kenyan lawyer in the International Criminal Court of Justice (ICJ) for the “trial and crucifixion of Jesus Christ,” which the lawyer claims was “unlawful,” according to regional media reports.

Kenyan lawyer Dola Indidis says that Israel and the Jewish people should be held legally liable for Jesus’s death, according to the Jerusalem Post.
Indidis, who has taken his case the ICJ in The Hague, is also suing Tiberius, the emperor of Rome in 42 BCE, “Pontius Pilate, a selection of Jewish elders, King Herod, the Republic of Italy, and the State of Israel,” according to the Post.

Indidis is using the Bible as his primary piece of evidence against Israel.

“Evidence today is on record in the Bible, and you cannot discredit the Bible,” Indidis was quoted as saying by the Kenyan Citizen News.

Indidis further “insists that the government for whom they acted can and should still be held responsible,” the Post reported.

Indidis, who reportedly is a former spokesman of the Kenyan Judiciary, insists that he has a “duty to uphold the dignity of Jesus.”

“I filed the case because it’s my duty to uphold the dignity of Jesus and I have gone to the ICJ to seek justice for the man from Nazareth,” Indidis was quoted as saying. “His selective and malicious prosecution violated his human rights through judicial misconduct, abuse of office bias and prejudice.”

Indidis further maintains that Jesus was not given a proper say during his trial and that his resulting punishment was unfairly carried out.

“I am suing as a friend [of Jesus],” he was quoted as saying.

When asked about the case, an ICJ official is reported to have said, “It is not even theoretically possible for us to consider this case,” according to the Post.

Top 10 diet mistakes that prevent women from losing weight

If you are like most women, all forms of sweets serve as comfort food. If you turn to food when you are stressed, you are letting your emotions control what your eat and how much you eat.

1. Dieting Without Resistance Training
What is the most common way women approach weight loss? Crash dieting. If crash diets worked, all women would be healthy and fit.

There are two huge problems with crash dieting. One, a lot of the weight lost is muscle tissue. That means that even if you weigh less and fit into smaller sizes of clothing, you are still flabby.

The second problem is even worse. Dieting slows down your metabolism. The longer you diet and the less you eat, the slower your metabolism. Muscle is your body’s metabolism – when you lose it, you reduce your metabolic capacity.

When you eventually get off the diet – and you will get off – you are bound to gain all the weight back in the form of fat. Worse, you will likely end up gaining more weight than you lost.

2. Focusing On The Scale
What do you see in the mirror and what does the world see at the beach? Do they see the way your body looks or the number that shows up on the scale? Most women focus on the number on the scale even though it isn’t always representative of the way they really look.

If you exercise properly, you will build muscle and lose fat at the same time. If you lose five pounds of fat and build five pounds of muscle, the scale won’t move, but you will look much better in the mirror and your clothes will fit much better because muscle is more dense and takes up less room than fat. The truth is, how you look and feel has little to do with how much you actually weigh.

3. Focusing On Cardio
When you do decide to do some form of exercise, is it invariably some form of cardio? Well, guess what? Cardio is the least important form of exercise for getting a sexy shapely body.

The key to getting and keeping a great body is to increase your metabolism. In other words, you need to focus on activities that not only burn calories during the workout, but also cause you to burn calories for hours and days after your workout. Doing metabolic resistance training and interval training are more effective than cardio-only exercise in boosting your metabolic rate.

4. Skipping Breakfast
You’ve heard it before. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But did anyone ever tell you why?

When you wake up in the morning, you have been fasting for eight or so hours. Your body is starving for nutrients. When you don’t give it any, it starts breaking down muscle for energy. This is bad because your muscle is your metabolism. So you are literally destroying your body’s ability to burn calories.

Studies have also shown that if you eat a balanced healthy breakfast, you are much less likely to overeat later in the day. And when you start your day with a healthy meal, you are more likely to make good nutrition choices from that point forward.

5. Relying on Pills
Diet pills are another common approach that women take to lose weight. There are many different categories of diet pills, but few to none of them actually work (read The Skinny on weight loss supplements). The only time you see women who have gotten in great shape thanks to a diet pill is on the advertisement for the diet pill. A natural, common sense approach is the most effective, safest, and longest-lasting strategy to losing weight.

6. Eating Too Little
Eating three square meals is just the bare minimum for a healthy and fit body. You should be eating three meals and at least two healthy snacks each day.

Most women eat too little. They skip or skimp on breakfast and then often do the same with lunch. This leaves you running on fumes all day. By the time dinner comes around, you are ravenous and likely to overeat.

You end up having your heaviest meal at the end of the day when there is little opportunity to burn off the calories. This is the perfect recipe for gaining fat.

7. Eating Out Too Much
If your busy schedule or desire for convenience has you eating out most of the time, you have little to no control over the foods you eat. And simply put, you have little to no control over what you look like and how you feel.

If you want to look and feel your best, you need to start cooking. This doesn’t mean you spend hours cooking gourmet meals – it meals finding a delicious variety of recipes that you can put together in cinch. And before you eat out, learn about the common pitfalls of restaurant dining and how to avoid them.

8. Emotional Eating
Food can evoke both good and bad emotions and it is also a go-to when women feel anxious, depressed, angry, sad, or even elated. Women experience a variety of psychological attachments to different foods.

Sweets are often in this category. If you are like most women, all forms of sweets serve as comfort food. If you turn to food when you are stressed, you are letting your emotions control what your eat and how much you eat.

If you are going to get the body you deserve, you need to find a way to break this emotional attachment to food.

9. Lack of Consistency
Do you remember what happened last January? Wasn’t this the year you were going to lose weight and get that sexy body?

Chances are, you were good for a short while. But then you started skipping workouts or breakfast, and by February, your New Year’s resolutions were just a distant memory. Maybe you’ll try again, but the same thing is likely to happen.

By now, you have learned that without consistency there will be no results. This means making resolutions and sticking to them.

10. Not Enough Sleep
Lack of sleep is an often overlooked factor. If you are doing everything right, but still can’t lose the fat, take a look at your sleeping patterns.

Are you getting to bed at a reasonable hour? Do you sleep at least eight hours a night? Stress in and of itself compounded by too few hours of shut-eye result in an elevation of the stress hormone cortisol (check out Is stress making your belly fat?). Chronically high levels of cortisol can make losing fat very difficult and can even cause you to gain fat.

If you are dieting and exercising and still not seeing the body you want, make sure you aren’t making one or more of these 10 common dieting mistakes. Commit to correcting one a week and you will get that sexy shape you deserve in no time.

You got these? 7 personality traits that makes a guy ‘boyfriend material’

Whether that is goal is to be a lawyer, entrepreneur, businessman, or even a professional video game tester, he should at the very least have a plan to get to where he wants to be. His future and plans for such should always be on the horizon. Or else, you’ll be moving on, and he’ll be holding you back!

In today’s world, it’s so hard to find a guy that totally “gets you,” isn’t over-confident, has no player-like tendencies, and has all the qualities that would make him perfect boyfriend material. While no one is ever perfect, there are some personality traits that would make him come just within reach, or at least perfect to you! In my opinion, these personality traits are something every guy should possess if they want to be perfect boyfriend material and become the one you want to be with for the long haul!

1. Honest
Dishonesty is such a big, big deal breaker. No one wants to deal with a guy who constantly lies about his feelings, whereabouts, friends or anything else important. And, yes, that includes little white lies too, because if he lies about liking your outfit, there’s no telling whether he feels he can lie about something else! I (and I assume you ladies too) value the truth, in all situations. It’s always the number one determining quality that I look for in someone I’m dating when deciding if he has all the right traits to be perfect boyfriend material!

2. Intelligent

Intelligence is such a huge turn-on. Instead of trying to impress you with corny pick-up lines, he should be trying to impress you with knowledge. Intelligence is so important because it lets you know that he can make smart decisions and inferences, form thought-provoking opinions, and carry interesting conversations. There is nothing worse than a guy whom you can’t have a decent conversation with. You guys should be able to learn from one another and expand as people.

3. Open-Minded

Open-mindedness is such a good quality to have. If someone is willing to try something new, is open to innovative ideas, opinions, adventure, different styles and just an overall willingness to accept things without a cloud of judgment hanging above, he is a great guy in my book. If the guy you’re crushing on or already in a relationship with has this personality trait, then I’d say he’s a keeper!

4. Humorous

Laughter is one of life’s simplest pleasures. A guy that can make you laugh in times of heartache, times of depression or embarrassment, sadness or despair, or even just a regular day, is a guy that will help nurture a healthy relationship. Not that he has to be a jokester all the time, or a class clown per se, but a guy that can make light of the situations that might be difficult for you can surely make you feel a lot better. Laughter is a powerful medicine after all.

5. Caring/Thoughtful

I know I always want to look for someone who has a caring nature. I want to make sure that at the end of the day, he’ll be there when I need him, and that he’ll actually want to be there. Nothing is worse than being in a relationship, or getting to know someone and realizing that the only things they care about are themselves! You want to know that, should you ever need solace or comfort, they’ll be the shoulder you cry on.

6. Ambitious

Does your guy sit home all day eating Cheetos and playing video games on the couch without ever thinking of doing anything else? Then, that’s definitely a warning sign that he might not have the right qualities that make him perfect boyfriend material. Now, I in no way bash gamers, but he should want to accomplish something in his life. Whether that is goal is to be a lawyer, entrepreneur, businessman, or even a professional video game tester, he should at the very least have a plan to get to where he wants to be. His future and plans for such should always be on the horizon. Or else, you’ll be moving on, and he’ll be holding you back!

7. Understanding

A guy that is understanding is a guy who listens. Wouldn’t it be great if every guy listened AND retained the information you told him? Well, there are a few who do, and that definitely sets them apart from the rest. You want a guy to understand what you’re going through or the opinions you have, even if they don’t necessarily agree with them. Understanding is such an essential personality trait because it lets you know that communication between you two will go more smoothly than someone who refuses to see your point of view.

These are only but a few great personality traits that help you determine whether he might be perfect boyfriend material. Among amazing traits that I look for in a guy, I’d also like him to be charming, adventurous and of course compassionate. What personality traits do you feel make a guy perfect boyfriend material?

Boko Haram plans massive attacks for Muslim festival – JTF

The Joint Military Task Force, ‘Operation Restore Order’ in Borno yesterday alerted residents of the state that members of the militant Islamic sect, Boko Haram are perfecting plans to launch a massive attack during the Eid-el-fitr festivities.

According to the JTF spokesman, Lt.-Col. Sagir Musa, people living in the Maiduguri metropolis and Jere Local Government must be security conscious during the celebrations.

“In the continued efforts to destroy all acts of terrorism in Borno State, the Joint Task Force, JTF, wishes to alert citizens and residents of the state of the impending plans by Boko Haram to carry out massive attacks and bombings in Maiduguri metropolis and other parts of Borno State any moment from now and during the Eid-el- Fitr Sallah celebration.”

He advised residents to be more concerned and vigilant about the happenings in and around their immediate environments.

“The public are also reminded to be cautious and to report any suspicious movement, actions and abandoned objects in public places, particularly those in polythene bags and other sacks to the nearest security checkpoints for immediate action.

“The JTF further reminds the people of Borno State that although the curfew has been reviewed to 11p.m. to 6a.m. daily, checks are continuously being conducted throughout the night to ensure safety, security of lives and properties as well as consolidating on the successes recorded so far in our collective fight against terrorism,” Sagir stated.

Read the Nigerian Eye report below:

Also yesterday, the Inspector- General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, said the war on terror was far from being won, nearly three months since a state of emergency was declared in three states in the North-East.

He hailed security forces for placing their lives on the line to fight organised terror gangs, stressing however that the occasional resurgence of terror attacks in some parts of the country were sad reminders that the battle was not yet over.

The IGP, who spoke in Abuja at a security review meeting with AIGs in charge of zones and formations across the federation, urged police officers, particularly assistant inspectors- general of police, AIGs, to wake up from their “perceived slumber” and tackle headlong the wave of insecurity in their zones. “Daily situation reports bear sad testimonies to this phenomenon.

In spite of the emergency rule in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states, the insurgents still inflict untold hardships on peace-loving and innocent residents of these states.

“The explosion in Sabon- Gari area of Kano metropolis is another painful reminder that the war against terrorism is not over yet,” Abubakar said.

The police boss said that apart from redoubling their efforts, all AIGs must restructure their existing crime-fighting architecture to ensure that their zones, commands and formations are kept safe and secure.

He said ahead of the Eidil- Fitr celebrations and the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in Anambra and Ekiti states, police officers must step up their game and ensure that security is provided fully in such areas.

The IG’s statement came even as the Defence Headquarters said its Special Forces and their Nigerien counterparts had succeeded in foiling attempts by some fleeing Boko Haram members to regroup and launch vicious attacks in the border areas between Nigeria and Niger Republic.

Director, Defence Information, Brig- Gen. Chris Olukolade, who stated this in Abuja yesterday, explained that the group had aimed to regroup, procure a large cache of arms and launch fresh attacks in some parts of the country. He said that Special Forces also captured a top Boko Haram commander and his accomplices.

Although, he did not disclose their identities, Olukolade said they were currently being interrogated to determine their level of involvement in terrorism.

“The plan by a band of terrorists who relocated to Niger Republic to remobilise and re-arm insurgents with the aim of carrying out fresh terrorists attacks on some Nigerian communities has been foiled.

“The leader of the group, who had fled Nigeria when the terrorist camps were sacked, was reportedly recruiting fresh hands and training them for renewed terrorist activities in Nigeria. “The intention of the group is to focus its attacks on some towns around the Nigeria-Niger Republic border,” he said.

The spokesman added that intelligence operatives of the MNJTF had been on the trail of the leader until he was eventually arrested in Karanga, Niger Republic, at the weekend with the cooperation of the Nigerien forces.

In Kano State, business activities have remained low in the commercial city, even as residents in Sabon Gari, with an estimated three million population, are still gripped by fear, following the devastating bomb attacks on Monday, which left over 40 people dead. Also, fun seekers have abandoned the various cool spots since the incident.

National Mirror’s findings revealed that most of the fun spots in Sabon Gari, especially those located on Enugu and New Road, remained shut. The areas with large concentration of beer parlours and other entertainment and hospitality establishments have been deserted since the bomb attacks.

Game on: APC leaders visit IBB, hold closed-door meeting

by Isi Esene

Members of the newly formed All for Progressive Congress (APC) yesterday visited the former president, General Ibrahim Babangida at his Hilltop mansion in Minna, Niger state.

This is coming barely two days after its registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after a protracted battle to be recognised as a political party.

Among the team who visited the former head-of-state was former Speaker, House of Representatives and now Deputy National Chairman of APC, Aminu Bello Masari; former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nasir El-Rufai, who is now the deputy national secretary of the new party; Senator Nafiu Ibrahim from Bauchi State and a woman leader.

The delegation arrived at Babangida’s residence at about 12:30pm on Thursday.

Read the Sun Newspapers report below:

The former leader, who received the visitors at the entrance to his office, later led them to his office where they had a closed door meeting. Security details of the former military president, however, advised journalists hanging around the house to excuse Babangida and his guests.

Earlier, while receiving the NECO Governing Board, the former leader urged Nigerians not to condemn the activities of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as related to the ongoing strike embarked upon by the union, saying that lecturers might have had the interest of the nation at heart.

“I think that they do have national interest at heart, but to be honest with you, I think they should not give up in their negotiation with the government and as much as possible, let the public understand the issue at stake.”

7 positive things to tell yourself when things turn hopeless

When life seems pointless, use positivity. It can be incredibly difficult, but it’s worthwhile. What do you tell yourself when you’re upset?

There are positive things to tell yourself when you’re feeling down. It’s dangerous to sulk in your sadness and as hard as it is, you have to try to make your mind a happier place. Don’t let yourself believe that it’s pointless to keep living your life. Start changing your attitude by reading these positive things to tell yourself.

1. You Have The Power to Change Your Life

One of the positive things to tell yourself is that you have the potential to change your situation. Look at Robert Downey Jr. He suffered through drug addiction, jail time, and rehab. Now he’s one of the most talented, respected actors who’s starred in multiple movies. Never give up hope, because there will be moments in life worth living for. Even if your current situation is rough, that can change.

2. You’re Stronger than You Think

Be proud that you’ve made it this far in life. You’ve made it through countless arguments, bad days, and embarrassing moments. You’ve endured difficult things and you’ll have the willpower to make it through more. Remember how far you’ve come and know that you’re a strong person. Even if you don’t believe that’s true, reading this means you’re alive, so you must be stronger than you think.

3. Your past Is a Memory

If your past makes you cringe, focus on something else. Everyone has memories that make them sick to think about. If you can use your past mistakes as reminders to be a better person, that’s great. But if it only brings pain, push the thoughts away. Tell yourself that your past is your past and not an indication of your future.

4. People Love You

Sometimes clichés are true. Whether it’s a parent, friend, or boyfriend, someone loves you. Just because they don’t show their emotions doesn’t mean they don’t exist. If it seems like they’re pushing you too hard, it’s only because they care. Your family and friends want you to have the best life possible and for that to happen, they might have to be stern.

5. You Can’t Rush Success

If you’re worried about what your future holds, remember to take life one day at a time. Don’t get overwhelmed with whether or not you’ll succeed with your goal of becoming a teacher. Start small. Take the classes you need to take, tutor, and go on job interviews when you’re ready. Don’t rush things or you’ll stress yourself out more than you should.

6. Others Are in The Same Boat

Whatever you’re feeling, you’re not the only one in the world to feel that way. Plenty of people think that their existence is useless and that their life is going nowhere. It doesn’t mean that your emotions are unimportant. It just means that others have gone through what you have and have come out alright. You can survive too.

7. Happiness Is a Choice

If your feel like your life is horrible, you can still take moments out of the day to be happy. Use escapism by watching a movie or reading a book. Or just have a conversation with your friends. Just remember that you have the power to make choices that can lead to happiness. So don’t isolate yourself from those you love or punish yourself by refusing to do things that bring you joy.

When life seems pointless, use positivity. It can be incredibly difficult, but it’s worthwhile. What do you tell yourself when you’re upset?

Actor Chidi Mokeme In Sex and Child Scandal With Habiba; A Married Woman

It is common knowledge in the Nollywood circle that actor Chidi Mokeme was the one who helped Habiba Abubakar in her duel with Jim Iyke. He assisted her to effectively counter all damaging write ups and online postings geared towards blackmailing her from getting back the huge sympathy loan she gave Jim Iyke to boost his clothing business which became the source of all her problems.

You may recall that after taking her millions, Jim Iyke, in an attempt to default from paying the loan, launched a war of blackmail against the benevolent lady claiming that his refusal to sleep with her was the sole reason why she demanded for her money. Nobody believed him as the amount was huge and with legal documents to show that it was meant to be just a loan and nothing more.
What may be news to many who followed the saga to the end, is that Chidi Mokeme, who's married, couldn't resist the dazzling beauty of the delectable lady...

The grapevine had it that Mokeme and the Abuja Lady had since became entangled in hot romance as the duo had been spotted in and out of Five Star hotels and Executive Guest Houses in the capital city and other locations In Kaduna and Kano, the birth place Of Habiba Abubakar.
Chidi Mokeme cashed into the assistance he rendered to her. His reputation for preying on vulnerable ladies is legendary. To jog your memories about this actor, Chidi Mokeme, a few years ago, was in a dirty fight with a woman he impregnated and dumped to bring up their son Daniel solo. The valiant lady pursued Chidi and finally forced him in the last four years to begin taking some responsibility for his son who was 15 years old June this year.

She is not the first one he had dumped in the like manner but the only one who had the courage to tackle him. Those on the heels of Chidi's escapade insist that the gigolo boasts that he at any given time has no less than a dozen women he is preying on. His speciality is married women and old ladies like Ita Giwa whom he has milked continuously. He operates mainly in Abuja , Lagos and P/ Harcourt.
Now back to the hottest news making the online round that Habiba now has a child for him and his family are very well aware of the new born baby, especially his mother who Habiba gave an ML Mercedes M/class during her birthday in March this year.

After trying so hard to make Habiba remove the pregnancy to protect himself , the two have now resorted to twitter and email fights and it is taking a dramatic turn with Chidi desperately threatening to publish some Internet created and generated X-rated pictures, mails, and fabricated texts messages to disparage Habiba and embarrass her and her children, who are innocent in this case.

This has resulted in a big fight. Habiba having fallen to this scammer is no pushover according to those who know her. This issue has caused her so much trouble already especially losing her marriage. Habiba is in deep sh*t with her husband apart from sending her away, he has also dispossessed her of her three kids. A close friend of hers commented that Habiba is now a bundle of pity, while Chidi is out there enjoying himself, probably doing same to another lady.

She is billed to reverse the press interview she granted last year denying any relationship with Chidi Mokeme to save him from embarrassment and save his reputation. She is so bitter and feels stupid allowing him to cajole her into saving his skin in the interview.

The concern of all right thinking human beings with conscience is not Chidi or Habiba because they are consenting adults, but the child. He should be properly introduced to his family. Threats to Habiba's life and reputation through damaging publications can do nothing to change the facts on ground. All their secrets are now in the public domain.

Chidi Mokeme should sulk in his new found problem and be man enough to accept responsibility and stop further damages to the two families. Let this be the final lesson to both of them.
Women are human beings and not mere objects of lust and greed. My heart go out to the innocent children he is rumoured to father.

5-Year Old Boy Beaten To Death For Bedwetting (

A 5-year old boy has been beaten to death by his parents in Eastern Alabama for wetting his pants.

Calhoun County District Attorney Brian McVeigh told WBMA-TV Wednesday that Gregory Caver of Anniston was beaten until he was unconscious Friday, and later died at a hospital in Birmingham.

The boy’s 28-year-old mother India Kimble and her 26-year-old boyfriend Vonta McClellan have been charged with capital murder in the boy’s death.

The young victim, identified as Gregory Caver, was taken to Stringfellow Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to Children’s of Alabama hospital in Birmingham, where he later died.

Authorities have said McClellan was accused of also abusing his 7-year-old daughter and was arrested. Officials have said he was in jail when he was served with a warrant for the boy’s death.

Investigators have said Kimble fled authorities and was picked up by U.S. Marshals in Mobile. She has since been returned to Anniston.

It’s unclear if the two have attorneys.

6 Awesome Things Women's Bodies Can Do

Sometimes women get bogged down in body image issues. We focus on what our bodies can't do, how they don't look and how we wish they looked. In the process, we lose sight of everything they are capable of and how downright incredible they are, imperfections and all.

Here's a reminder of six of the totally awesome things women's bodies can do.

And if you think of any big causes for celebration we left off the list, let us know in the comments.

1. Create Life

Yes, it's obvious. But it's also so incredible, we can't leave it off the list: Women's bodies are capable of growing other people and then ushering them into the world.

Lots of specific things happen during pregnancy in order to help babies along - each of them mind-blowing in their own right. For example, women's bodies grow a whole new organ (the placenta), which provides oxygen and key nutrients and also eliminates waste. Plus, overall maternal blood volume increases by up to 50 percent, while the amount of blood pumped by a pregnant woman's heart every minute increases by between 30 and 50 percent, the Mayo Clinic explains.

2. Make Food

Again, another one that's pretty obvious, but too incredible to ignore: Women's bodies make their own food. And not just any food, but, like, the original superfood. Breast milk and colostrum - the thick, yellow fluid women make early-on before their full milk comes in - is rich in nutrients and antibodies that can help babies fight off infection and disease for weeks, months and even years to come.

3. Have Multiple Orgasms

Media coverage of women and sex often focuses on the elusive female orgasm. Less touted (celebrated?) is the fact that many women are capable of achieving multiple big-Os in a row. As WebMD explains, "Some women are capable of a rapid return to the orgasm phase with further sexual stimulation and may experience multiple orgasms." Men, on the other hand, "need recovery time after orgasm, called a refractory period, during which they cannot reach orgasm again."

4. Remember Things

The brain is the most complex part of the human body and a growing number of studies suggest that women's brains are particularly adept at remembering important bits of information. A 2010 study by researchers with the University of London found that 50-year-old women were better at recalling a group of words they'd heard minutes before than their male counterparts, whilea study published this June found that women were better than men at remembering faces.

5. Smell (Really Well)

Studies suggest that women have a strong sense of smell - stronger than men's overall. And that sense becomes even stronger just before or during ovulation. "Women have a better sense of smell, especially during ovulation when estrogen levels soar," Dr. Oz once told Oprah. A (slightly bizarre) 2008 study even suggested that women are capable of sniffing out men's sexual intentions by smelling samples of their sweat.

6. Survive

According to recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates, women live roughly five years longer than men. Scientists surmise that much of that is because women are more likely to engage in healthier behaviors that impact longevity (like eating well, for example), but recent research also suggests that women's bodies have an innate ability to fight off infection and disease.

A Japanese study found that there was a slower rate of decline in key immune-related markers in women than in men, possibly because of how sex hormones affect the immune system, MSN reports.

BREAKING NEWS: Igbo Deportees Were a Nuisance - Lagos State Defends

The Lagos State Government said yesterday that the 72 people ‘deported’ to Onitsha, Anambra State last week constituted a nuisance. Controversy has been trailing the government’s action.

Fielding questions from newsmen after the state Security Council meeting chaired by Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN), the Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr. Umaru Manko, said the state government only rehabilitated and resettled the people.

The CP said: “What happened was that the state did rehabilitation and resettlement of the citizens from other states that came into the state and turned into destitute. After the state government had reformed them.

“After that, they indicated their interest of going back to their home-towns to be resettled. The deportees were dumped at upper Eweka Under Bridge in Onitsha at about 2am.
That was what happened. There wasn’t any deportation”.

On security in the state, CP Manko reassured the residents that the operatives are on top of their job.

This Morning, the Lagos state Government ordered the Operatives of OP-MESA and SARS to take over the Ladipo Motor Parts Market, as over 15 pick up vans with armed mobile policemen are stationed to force the the Igbo Traders to accept the Market leader imposed on them by the Government.

Man Absconds After Wife Delivers Triplets

A 30-year-old mother of triplets, Bose Akapo, has cried out for help in search of her husband, Biodun Akapo, 45, who reportedly absconded shortly after his wife delivered of triplets.

Vanguard gathered that the father of the triplets, who is a farmer at Afojupa village, a suburb of Owode-Egba town in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, bolted when he received the news of the birth of the triplets.

It was further gathered that the wife and the runaway husband are indigenes of Ibadan and have been living together as a happy family in the village for over a decade, before the arrival of the triplets.

Narrating her ordeal, Bose, who delivered the babies last Wednesday at a maternity home in the town, explained that she was bailed out at the hospital by a traditional ruler of the town, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo, who paid the hospital bill.

She further said her husband had gone out before she started having pains and was assisted to the hospital on a motorcycle by a neighbour.

According to her, “I never thought of three babies until when I put to bed because I already had two children who are ages five and eight. I was taken to hospital on a motorcycle by a neighbour when I started noticing signs of delivery, because my husband was not at home at that time. But, surprisingly, I gave birth to triplets and when the news got to my husband he did not visit me throughout my admission in the hospital, and has since remained incommunicado. I don’t even know his whereabouts till now, but I am begging him to come home for the sake of these innocent babies.

“When I got to the hospital, because I could not find my husband, I contacted our traditional ruler who rendered financial assistance and provided clothings and other medical materials for the babies.”

Vanguard gathered that the woman and the triplets are all in stable condition and have been discharged from the hospital.
Speaking on the development, the royal father of the town, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo, expressed optimism that the state government would attend to the needs of the family, describing the Ibikunle Amosun-led administration as a government known for the welfare of the citizens and residents.

ONLY IN CHINA: Snake With A Foot Found In China (PHOTO)

Dean Qiongxiu, 66, said she discovered the reptile clinging to the wall of her bedroom with its talons in the middle of the night. "I woke up and heard a strange scratching sound. I turned on the light and saw this monster working its way along the wall using his claw," said Mrs Duan of Suining, southwest China.

Mrs Duan said she was so scared she grabbed a shoe and beat the snake to death before preserving its body in a bottle of alcohol.

The snake – 16 inches long and the thickness of a little finger – is now being studied at the Life Sciences Department at China's West Normal University in Nanchang.

Snake expert Long Shuai said: "It is truly shocking but we won't know the cause until we've conducted an autopsy."
A more common mutation among snakes is the growth of a second head, which occurs in a similar way to the formation of Siamese twins in humans.

Such animals are often caught and preserved as lucky tokens but have very little chance of surviving in the wild anyway, especially as the heads have a tendency to attack each other.

BREAKING NEWS Police arrest notorious robber plaguing south-west

The Leader of a notorious robbery gang terrorizing Lagos and other south-west states was Thursday, arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Lagos.

Vanguard gathered that the suspect, identified as Abiodun Ogunjobi, a.k.a, Abbey Godogodo, met his waterloo when SARS operatives led by SP Abba Kyari who have been on his trail for a long time, laid ambush for him at his mansion at Egbeda area of Ibadan, Oyo state and also recovered two Ak47 rifles and 10 fully loaded magazines.

Vanguard learnt Godogodo was behind the July 7, 2013, gruesome murder of seven persons at O4 Hotel, a popular hotel in Ajah area of Lagos, including the owner, Olarinwaju Subair.
His gang also went on to kill two security guards at a popular hotel, along Apapa Road, Ebute-Meta area of State on the same day.

Police sources told our reporter that the suspect narrowly escaped arrest on July 14, 2013, when he and members of his gang engaged SARS operatives in a shootout on Eko Bridge, Lagos Island after killing two policemen at Ebute-Ero and Ajao Estate. Five members of his gang were gunned down in the encounter, while Godogodo and two others escaped.

Vanguard further learnt that Godogodo who has three children from three women, coordinated several bank robberies in Kwara, Ogun, Oyo, Ekiti and Osun States and has killed more than 50 policemen. According to the police source “he is the biggest and most notorious armed robber we have in the South West in the past 14 years.

When Vanguard interviewed the 36-year-old suspects, who is a native of Abekuta, Ogun State, he confessed to being a robber as accused with no regrets for his actions. He said “I started robbing in 1996 and in 1999 I was arrested and remanded in prison for the minor crime of fighting. I spent more than seven years in prison. My prolonged stay in prison for this minor offence hardened me and I vowed to pay back the police for that injustice.

“After I was released, I went to Katanguar, in Iyano-Ipaja area of Lagos to meet my friend Odun, who was arrested by the Police recently at O4 Hotel in Ajah. Odun was a robber and we started operating; we worked with several other gangs. I invested my money in arms and ammunition. I also built houses in Ifo, Ilaro, Ikorodu and Ibadan.

“I kill policemen and take their rifles because they (policemen) have also killed my boys and taken my rifles from them. I have no regrets for all I have done and I have no advice for young people who want to go into armed robbery like me.”

UNBELIEVABLE!! Doctor claims pregnant 15-year-old teen is still a vī́rgin

A court in Dubai was told that a pregnant teen was still a vī́rgin, according to court proceedings.

That was the diagnosis of a doctor in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, presented at the trial of a 15-year-old teen girl, who was accused of violating the country's harsh Islamic law against sēx outside marriage.

The girl, identified only by her initials MM, was checked out and has since given birth to a girl, the local newspaper reported. Testifying against the doctor's report, MM told prosecutors that she had sēx with her 17-year-old boyfriend, identified by the initials YA, on several occasions.

"I met him through the internet and fell in love with him," the girl said. "We have had many dates in my family's house in Oud Mutaina, Dubai, and had sēx in my bedroom after my parents fell asleep. He had full sēx with me three times and when I told him I was pregnant, he didn’t care."

The boy, meanwhile, insists that the two were not sēxually active, according to a local newspaper.
"I did not make her lose her vī́rginity and did not make her pregnant," he told the newspaper. "After a while we broke up. I was surprised when her family was at my house and told me that I made her pregnant."

The boy said that MM was seeing other guys throughout their relationship and demanded a paternity test.
But he admitted to touching the girl, according to a newspaper. The report suggests that girl may have become pregnant from semen dripping into the womb which is highly unlikely to have occurred.

The two teenagers have been subjected to judicial oversight.

I’m Not A Child – Osita ‘Pawpaw’ Iheme Cries Out

I’m Not A Child- Osita Iheme Cries Out! Size, to Osita Iheme, the midget actor, is nothing; but image. The Nollywood actor popularly called Pawpaw frowned at people who see him as a small boy. Recently, in one of his interviews, Osita bemoaned the how people viewed him.

He expressed his disappointment about people seeing him as a child, hear him, “If you are a child in a drama, in real life you are not a child. You don’t need to behave like a child. Yes, a lot of people mistake me for a child in real life, but that is their problem. I am not a child. I don’t think I look like a child. I don’t allow that to bother me because I am not seeing it.

People can see me and take me as a child, but that person is not with his senses because from the way I dress, the way I look, I don’t think I am looking like a child. People can meet me at first and have a spontaneous reaction of seeing a child but when they sit down and look very well, they would understand that I am not a child.”

Truly, will a child invest in real estate as Osita has done? Will a child have series of girls admiring him? Will a child go to a strip club to have his eyes filled with excitement and eventually go home with one of the hot dancers? A child will not do that, only Pawpaw can!

Funke Akindele Finally Opens Up On What Really Happened

It’s all about other women, lack of attention, just coming in and going out at at will, abuse, etc. Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has opened up on the reasons behind the crash of her marriage. Although Oloyode is now begging her to come back, there is a “spiritual” angle to the saga.

Below are the revelations by Funke Akindele:

In an interview with E24-7 Magazine, she disclosed that she only enjoyed the marriage in the first 2 months.

“I was abused emotionally and verbally. Really, I felt we could work things out when the trouble started two months after the marriage, but I made up my mind and shut the door of the marriage at him when the trouble was coming to me too much.

“I stooped to conquer him; buried my fame and name to make him my husband, but it did not work. At a point in time, I asked if it’s not the same man that was all over me before we married.

“He nearly got me off my career. He called me severally; I did not pick his calls but when he realized my silence was tormenting him, he took to Facebook. It’s alright. Ask him when did he come to my house last? He left me here in my rented apartment with nothing and he will just dash in and dash out. He gets abusive, caustic anytime we have a misunderstanding and often told me to my face, he’s going to his wife in Oshodi.”

At Oshodi, she said, she received a warm welcome from the wife, Fadekemi, but constant humiliation from Kehinde.

“She [Funke Akindele] was really loved by the kids at home; she enjoyed taking them out to eateries and stores. Sometimes, they spent the weekend with her and she followed them to school. The children will surely miss her,” our source, close to the family, said. Now that the cookie has crumbled, Kehinde, she said has been calling and sending text messages begging her to come back.

“He sent me sms that he has seen a buyer for his house at Adeniyi Jones for N40million. He asked me if he should sell it and that if he does, he will buy me a new car and a rent me a new apartment. Why now? I don’t need all that, I want my sanity.” After she ignored him, he sent her another text abusing her and calling her names. “So you can see that he does not mean well for me,” she re-iterated.

E24-7 checks revealed as at Saturday evening Kehinde was combing the nooks and crannies of Ikorodu to locate Funke’s dad’s house. He boasted: “I will do anything to win my wife back.”

Over the past few months, Funke and Kehinde had started to see things differently so the need to pull out became inexorably high. It was revealed exclusively to E24-7 MAGAZINE by sources close to Funke, that she was ready to go on with Kehinde’s warts and all but for the fact that loyalty has never been his strong point – his children from different women tell it all. Kehinde, our source hinted, has a roving eye when it comes to the opposite sex and this often causes friction between him and his celebrity wife.

There are tales about his dalliance with his Personal Assistant, Funke. Observers of the marriage from inception feel that when fame and money come to a meeting point in a relationship, it will result in problems if the couple are not committed and disciplined. Moreover, a byproduct of this alliance is usually ego and it kills celebrity marriages faster than one can open the pages of tabloids and magazines. But this is not the case with Funke. “I respect him to the end but he chose to treat me that way. He said he wanted to clip my wings.”

Funke and Kehinde rarely spent substantial time together even at the peak of their marriage. Both kept to hectic schedules by virtue of their chosen professions. While Funke is often involved in back-to-back shooting on movie sets, Kehinde jumps from one construction site to another; pressing buttons for his political ambitions; and keeping dates with his wife at home and other women by the side. This sort of arrangement invariably makes keeping faith with the vows of the union very difficult. In the long run, suspicion will rear its ugly head and the couple will eventually drift apart, especially when they don’t live under the same roof. This is best exemplified in Funke and Kehinde’s break up.

Besides, Kehinde’s disturbing and haunting pasts have repeatedly stared Funke right in the face, and according to E24-7 MAGAZINE’s impeccable source, Funke learnt shockingly that her once beloved hubby was expelled from the University of Jos almost as soon as he was matriculated as a student of the ivory tower. His admission, according to our source, was faulty right from the beginning and since that first attempt at tertiary education went awry, he shut his door at education. When he returned from Jos, he found strength in his entrepreneurial skill coupled with the influence and support of his mother, a market leader and successful businesswoman; he became an estate developer, building chains of shops in Oshodi market.

Gradually, he crept into politics and his popularity soared that he became a well-known grassroots politician and a great mobilizer. More than twice, Kehinde, who belonged to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and his supporters have clashed with the NATIONAL UNION OF ROAD TRANSPORT WORKERS (NURTW) Treasurer, Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo an Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) loyalist. Kehinde has also contested for elective posts twice; most recent, was the Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 1 House of Representatives in 2007 which he also lost.

Many years after, he reawakened his political ambition and quickly re-aligned himself by joining the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). To shore up his image, he found in Funke who has become popular with her movie, Jenifa and the sequel, The Return of Jenifa, a ready tool. He convinced the favourite actress to lead him to the Leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he had assaulted many years ago during the market women leadership tussle between his mother, Alhaja Almaroof and the late Iyaloja General Alhaja Abibat Mogaji.

After he atoned for his ‘sins,’ he joined the train of well- wishers that went to London to felicitate with the former governor when one of his sons graduated from a university in London. Reliable sources told E24-7 MAGAZINE that Kehinde’s lost bid to win the contract to rebuild Oshodi market really threw him off balance and that probably made him to turn the heat on his latest wife, Funke who wanted his attention.

Despite the ill-fated turn that the relationship has taken, many of Funke’s fans can’t help but wonder if she hadn’t known that the union was doomed to fail from the onset. The reason for this thinking is not far-fetched; firstly, Funke opted for the Muslim marriage even when many thought that she would go to the court registry to cement her marriage with Oloyede.

Secondly, sources close to the family said Kehinde was warned by spiritualists not to venture into the marriage but he declined and did not share it with Funke. In the same vein, Funke was told not to go into it by her parents but she asked them to respect her wish.

And as it plays out, she is free to remarry anytime she pleases without unnecessary legal impediments. This and many other factors contribute to the opinion shared by many of her fans that the delectable thespian knew that the future of her marriage with Oloyede will not be as long, colourful and bright as it appeared with all the glam. [But] it’s just too quick and too fast to break.

Now that the requiem mass has been sung for the once celebrated union, one cannot but remember the view of controversial actress, Tonto Dikeh, who declared that: ‘Nollywood brides often marry horribly.

Foods for bigger breasts and butts

The natural size of your hips and breasts are determined by several factors–genetics, diet and exercise.
If you are an ectomorph with a thin, angular frame with few curves, you might be able to alter your diet to slightly increase your curviness. You also might consider estrogenic Chinese herbs that may stimulate estrogen production, resulting in more curviness. Do not take any herbs without seeking the advice of amedical professional.

Balanced Diet
The Department of Agriculture designed a nutritional matrix called, “My Food Pyramid” that outlines dietary guidelines for healthy adults. It recommends eating a varied diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, low-fat dairy foods, nuts and nonsaturated fats. Lean proteins such as low-mercury fish, eggs, nuts and lean cuts of beef and poultry will help fill out your form. Low-fat dairy such as yogurt, kefir and milk also provide high-quality protein that can build curves.

Protein
Add nonsaturated fats to every meal and snack. Nonsaturated fats include olive, canola, flax seed, hemp seedand safflower oil. Nonsaturated fats are found in all types of nuts–almonds, walnuts, macadamia, cashews, and pine nuts. Walnuts have as much as 20 grams of fat per one-quarter cup and of that amount, only two grams are saturated, making them an excellent food to increase hip and bosom size.

Chinese Herbs
Some traditional Chinese herbs might help round out a flat figure by stimulating estrogen production, whichbuilds curves. Commonly used estrogenic herbs include licorice root, dong quai and vitex extract. These are available through licensed acupuncturists or doctors of Chinese medicine who are trained to assess if such estrogenic herbs are appropriate for you. Do not self-prescribe; consult the appropriate medical professional

Woman beats three-year-old girl to death for vomitting

A 21-year-old woman, Rebecca Bassey, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly beating her husband’s three-year-old niece, Deborah Bassey, to death.

According to police authorities, the suspect beat up the girl because she vomited and defecated on herself.

A police source told PUNCH Metro on Thursday that the incident occurred at Ijaiye Ojokoro area of the state on July 22, 2013.

He said, “The victim (Deborah) lost her mother in 2010. Early this year, Deborah’s father was evicted from his home and he decided to send Deborah and his second child to go and stay with his brother, Vincent, until he settles down.

“Deborah and her nine-year-old sister were living with Vincent and his wife, Rebecca, in a one-room apartment at Powerline, Jankara, Ijaiye Ojokoro. However, Rebecca was always maltreating the two children.”

According to police investigations, on the day of the incident, Deborah woke up around 5.30am with a high temperature.

The three-year-old girl was said to have started vomiting and defecating soon after. This was said to have angered Rebecca, who instead of administering treatment to the child, decided to beat her up.

A police source said, “In the process of beating the girl, the suspect pushed her and she fell, hitting her head against the edge of a wooden chair in the room.”

PUNCH Metro learnt that the victim started to bleed from the head. Some neighbours rushed her to Ahmadiyya Hospital, where she was referred to Orile Agege General Hospital where she later died.

A woman leader in the area, Kudirat Ogunseyi, was said to have reported the matter to Ijaye Ojokoro Police Division after which the suspect was arrested.

Some neighbours, in their statements at the police station, described the suspect as a hot-tempered woman, who was fond of beating the children.

“The way that woman beats up the children was very worrying to the extent that the landlord had threatened to evict them,” one of the statements reads.

Vincent told the police that he was not present when his wife beat his niece to death.

“I was not at home when the incident happened. I am a photographer during daytime but I work as a vigilante group member. So I hardly sleep at home,” he said.

The suspect however said she did not kill the victim deliberately. She said she only pushed Deborah and she hit her head against the chair.

“I am a housewife and I have a 10-month-old baby. I did not mean to kill her (Deborah). I only pushed her because she vomited and defecated on the floor. I was only trying to correct her. It was not deliberate. I am a mother too and I know how I would feel if my son was killed,” she said.

It was learnt that the matter had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba.

A source at the SCID said the police were waiting for autopsy. He added that if other wounds were found on other parts of the victim’s body, it would prove that the victim was indeed tortured before her death.

When contacted on the telephone, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said she would call back.

Wife kills husband over alleged sexual demands

Jos – The Plateau Police Command on Wednesday in Jos said it had arrested a 17-year-old minor who allegedly killed her husband over his sexual demands.

The minor allegedly killed Lawal Bala, 26, in his sleep on their matrimonial bed on July 8.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Chris Olakpe, said the police had also arrested some suspected criminals.

The minor, who spoke from the police custody, told newsmen that “he was sleeping with me six times in a day.

“I kept complaining to him that I could not stand his sexual urge but he refused to listen to my plea; no family member was ready to help me, so I did what I did. “

She said that she regretted killing him, but that she thought that was the only option left for her to free herself from the pains she was passing through.

According to her, I have realised my mistake and have repented of my sin; all I want is for the authorities to allow me to go home.

The suspect said she was already two months pregnant for her late husband and would want to go home to take care of herself till delivery.

Earlier, Olakpe had said that when the matter was reported, and the minor was arrested, she denied committing the offence.

“But in the cause of investigations, she later confessed to committing the crime and gave reasons, “ he said.

Olakpe, who said that the offence was a culpable homicide, added that she would soon be prosecuted at theJuvenile Court. (NAN)

Shekau shot, deposed – Boko Haram spiritual leader

BORNO—Sheikh Abubakar Shekau, leader of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, has reportedly been shot and deposed by members of his own sect, Boko Haram.

A new leader, Abu Zamira Mohammed, who is the sect’s leader negotiating with the federal government has been appointed new leader by the group’s Shura Council.

The group also said that its ceasefire declaration is working, pointing out that there has not been any suicide bombing since the declaration. It noted its condemnation of the Yobe massacre where 40 students were killed, adding that some politicians now commit murder and ascribe it to Boko Haram

Shekau: AFP

On the Kano blasts last Monday, which led to the death of about 45 people, the group blamed it on federal government’s tardiness in responding to the ceasefire agreement.

A joint report published yesterday, by Dr. Stephen Davis, a conflict resolution expert and an adviser to the last three Nigerian Presidents and Phillip van Niekerk, President of Calabar Africa, a strategic advisory company focusing on Africa, and former Editor of South Africa’s Mail & Guardian newspaper, in the US based online newspaper, huffingtonpost.com, quoted one Imam Liman Ibrahim, spiritual leader of Boko Haram, as saying that the change in leadership was prelude to peace negotiations with the federal government.

A faction of Boko Haram has entered into a back-channel dialogue with the government in the search for an elusive peace to a conflict that has seen multiple suicide bombings, attacks on government buildings and churches, and has claimed thousands of lives since 2011.

The Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Restoration of Peace in the North-East, Tanimu Turaki, last month announced that his committee had reached an “understanding for ceasefire” with members of the Jama’atu Ahlul Sunnah Lih Da’awa Wal Jihad, JAS, more commonly known as Boko Haram. JAS leadership also nominated five people to enter peace discussions with the Federal Government: Abu Liman Ibrahim, Abu Zamira Mohammed, Abu Adam Maisandari, Kassim Imam Biu and Mallam Modu Damaturu. In its press statement, JAS said the ceasefire would be in effect for 60 days, and that during the period, any attacks in its name or in the name of its leader, Imam Shekau, would be bogus attacks.

Boko Haram has been in preliminary discussions with government emissaries since the organisation declared a ceasefire on June 26. Abu Zamira Mohammed told the paper that his group was still waiting for the Federal Government’s response to the ceasefire declaration. The contacts are still at an early, fragile stage, and there is no guarantee that the talks will achieve a breakthrough.

The writers said: “It has now come to light that Boko Haram’s leadership sent representatives to the capital Abuja on June 25, 2013 where they revealed to the government that Shekau was no longer their leader.”

Imam Liman Ibrahim, the spiritual leader of Boko Haram, explained that the teaching of Shekau was becoming increasingly harsh and began to depart from the Holy Qu’ran.

“It was harsh, harsh, harsh,” Imam Liman said when explaining the reasons for the change of leadership.

“The beheadings, the killings, the recent death of students … this is not the way of the Holy Qu’ran. We could tolerate it no longer.

“Imam Liman explained that Shekau was given a choice of joining the peace dialogue with the Nigerian government, forming his own sect or being killed. Several senior Boko Haram commanders including Shekau’s Chief of Security and personal bodyguard, Abdullahi Hassan, have claimed that Shekau has since been shot in the lower leg, thigh and shoulder,” the paper went on.

The report said,” Shekau’s exact fate is not known. A video clip recovered from a Boko Haram camp in the Sambisa Forest Reserve in the northeast Nigeria, raided by the military on May 16, shows Shekau limping, providing confirmation of reports he had been shot.

“However, Shekau has been noticeably absent from recent public statements and is not one of the leaders who have engaged with government emissaries. It had been presumed that Shekau chose to voluntarily leave peace discussions in the hands of Boko Haram’s leadership group,” the duo wrote.

The JAS leadership were quoted as citing the Qu’ran as their inspiration for seeking peace. “In the Holy Qu’ran, Sura At Tauba: Wa-injanahuu-Lisalmi Faji Nahlahaa, we are encouraged to seek peace. The Holy Qu’ran also tells us it is good to negotiate. Sura At Nisa Ayih: Wa-sulhu Haira.”

In June, the Boko Haram leadership demanded that women held by the military under the state of the emergency in the north be released. President Jonathan authorised the release, which opened the door to the ceasefire and the peace dialogue.

The report also said “the Boko Haram leadership has appointed Abubakar Babasani Ibn Yusuf as spokesman to replace Zamirah. Babasani says the leadership has been consulting all senior commanders to assure compliance with the ceasefire. He said commanders as far afield as Niger, Chad, Sudan and Cameroon have agreed to the ceasefire and discussions with the Nigerian government on the subject of a peace deal.”

The June 26 ceasefire announcement has been accompanied by an absence of suicide bombings, giving credibility to the new leadership and their intention of signing a peace accord. However, the administration’s tardiness in responding to the group’s ceasefire announcement is believed to have precipitated three car bomb attacks in the northern city of Kano this week that left at least 15 people dead.

Other attacks have persisted including the recent horrific killings of students in Yobe where about 40 students were incinerated in their school building. The latest Boko Haram statement is highly critical of the Yobe deaths and denies responsibility for the attacks.

The leadership blames such atrocities on politicians in the northeast whom they accuse of arming gangs and committing crimes in the name of Boko Haram.

Shekau was deputy leader under Boko Haram founder Imam Mohammed Yusuf who was captured in July 2009 in fighting in the northeast of Nigeria and executed by Nigeria’s Police force in what appears to have been an extrajudicial killing. The interrogation and Yusuf’s bullet-riddled body were filmed on video.

Yusuf’s death radicalized the Boko Haram leaders and led them to move underground and identify more closely with Al Qaeda. Following the founder’s killing, Shekau emerged as the new leader of a revitalised Boko Haram in 2010 and he and other commanders refocused the group towards global jihad.

Shekau launched a series of well-planned assassinations and suicide bombings that targeted Nigerian police headquarters and the UN offices in Abuja among many other locations. Through a series of videoappearances on television stations, notably Al Jazeera, Shekau emerged as the face of Boko Haram. Earlier this year, the U.S. placed a $7-million bounty on his head.

The military’s Joint Task Force has recently arrested Alhaji Mala Othman, Chairman of the opposition All Nigeria People’s Party in Borno state, the epicentre of the insurrection, on terrorism charges.

“Jonathan declared a state of emergency on May 14 and launched a military offensive that has seen some successes. But reprisal attacks by Boko Haram, including the freeing of 105 of their members from prison, indicate that without a peace deal, Boko Haram has the resources to continue the fight,” the duo wrote.

Cult group kills 2 in Ogun

IJEBU-ODE —Two persons were killed by suspected cult members in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred at Ajegunle-Ijada and Ishado areas of the town.

According to reports, the victims, Lekan Ojaewele, 22, and Muyiwa Adeyemi, 20, were apprentices in the barbing and electronics businesses.

Investigations, however, revealed that the deceased were accidental victims as their bosses were the targets.

While Ojaewele was said to have been killed on his way to his boss’ shop by the cultists, Adeyemi was murdered while sleeping inside a shop belonging to his boss.

An eyewitness, who preferred anonymity, said the cult members came on motorcycles to launch the attacks.

Mr Yemi Odukoya,Head of Ijebu-Ode vigilance group, said the victims died in retaliatory attacks launched over the killing of a member of the Aye cult by the Eiye cult, Tuesday night.

Odukoya, who lamented the incessant killings in the town by cult groups, said his security outfit could not do much due to limited resources.

DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incidentand urged members of the community to assist the police with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the hoodlums.

He said: “These bad elements live among the people in the community and they can only be fished out with useful information by the people.”

He said security in the town had been beefed up with the deployment of more officers from the neighbouring command while efforts were on to nab the hoodlums.
