Meet the man deported from Saudi Arabia for being 'too handsome'
Arabic newspaper Elaph wrote: ‘A festival official said the three Emiratis were taken out on the grounds they are too handsome and that the commission (for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vices) members feared female visitors could fall for them.’

Glo unveils Onyeka Onwenu, M.I as X Factor Judges, Toolz as host
Glo yesterday unveiled the host and judges for X-factor Africa. Toolz as host, M.I, Onyeka Onwenu and Ghanaian rapper Reggie Rockstone as judges. Two rappers and a singer. Who likes the combination? Love that Onyeka Onwenu and M.I are there but another singer would have been more appropriate...or what do you guys think?

Mrs Lawson came to the stage as the third contestant. The elderly woman who was supported by her two sons wonderfully sang the ‘Glory be to God’ song and got three “yeses” to go through to the next round. The judges and the audience were impressed with her performance and her courage to still sing at the age of 68.
Men please explain this. What does 'I'm single but dating' mean?
I want to make this a topic of discussion because as a woman I don't understand what 'I'm single and dating' means'. When asked by Toolz in The Juice interview if he was dating, Banky W said, "I'm still very much single" and then he added. "I'm single and dating."
I know a lot of guys understand what he means by that, so please explain to us ladies. I'm thinking he means he doesn't have an official girlfriend or anyone he's serious with, but has a woman/women he takes out and chops any how...lol. I don't have a girlfriend but I get my groove-on on a regular basis. Is that what single and dating means? And are some women OK with being in situations like this?

Poisonous Amala Meal Wipes Out Family Of 3 In Ogun State
Three members of a family, Isioma Ufili, 4, Victoria Ufili, 30 (mother) and Favour Nkiruka Ufili, 26, have died after eating a meal of yam flour, better known as amala.
The little boy who survived the tragedy
The mother, Victoria, prepared and served the meal at their 85, Opeilu Road, Agbado, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria.
The family’s last born, a nine-month old baby boy, survived having sucked his mother’s breasts after she ate the meal.
He was treated at Overcomers Hospital, Agbado-Crossing alongside his mother, who later died at the same hospital. Mr. Ufili, a petty trader, didn’t eat from the meal because he was away at work.
P.M.NEWS gathered that last Saturday, Mrs. Ufili went to the market after which she prepared the amala meal suspected to be poisonous for her family to eat.
Shortly after taking the meal in the evening, it was Isioma that first complained of stomach pains, after which she started vomiting.
A few minutes later, the mother had the same symptoms and both of them were rushed to Overcomers Hospital, Agbado-Crossing.
“But they rejected Isioma because her case was too critical and referred her to Ifako General Hospital. From there she was also referred to the Ikeja General Hospital. She eventually died at the Ikeja General Hospital at about 6am on Monday, the same day the sister, Favour and mother, Victoria eventually died,” Mr. Charles Ikechukwu, the younger brother of Mr. Ufili told P.M.NEWS.
Ikechukwu explained that a few hours after Isioma’s death, they received a call from the Ifako General Hospital.
“When we got there, they told us that Mrs. Ufili had died. They also said that we should take care of the baby because he was also vomiting, having sucked his mother’s breasts.”
Mrs. Ufili’s body has been deposited at the mortuary.
P.M.NEWS further gathered that they returned from Isioma’s burial at Matori Cemetery, Ladipo-Oshodi, Lagos, only to find Favour’s corpse inside their rented apartment.
“She had also vomited all over the place, and her body was already stiff. This is the biggest tragedy I have ever seen- losing three members of my family in one day,” Mr. Ufili wept.
Favour’s body has been taken to their village in the eastern part of Nigeria for burial.
The case, Ikechukwu added, was reported at the Agbado Divisional Police Headquarters, “but up till now, they have not taken any action. They were just giving us some excuses, so we decided to leave everything to God.”
“This is a case of food poisoning. Something must have happened to their food. But who is to be suspected? Who are we going to hold responsible? My brother had no quarrel with anybody, likewise the wife,” Ikechukwu stated.
When our reporter visited the house where the incident occurred, the Ufili family apartment was shut while the landlord and other tenants of the house were said to have temporarily moved out of the house.

JONATHAN TO AMNESTY COMMITTEE: Help End Excesses Of Boko Haram
President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, expressed the determination of his government to put an end to the excesses of the Boko Haram sect.
President Jonathan who expressed this resolve while inaugurating the Presidential Committee on engagement with members of the Boko Haram Sect charged the committee members to come up with solutions that will restore peace in the troubled Northern part of the country.
Inaugurating the committee as well as the committee on the Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja yesterday, President Jonathan prayed Allah to grant members of the committees the wisdom to do their job.
He said: “Nigerians are expecting this committee to perform magic and we pray that Allah should give you the wisdom to do so, because without peace we can’t develop no matter how committed we are”.
He charged members of the committee to establish a link with members of the Boko Haram sect and develop a framework through which disarmament will take place.
The president further enjoined the committee to work out a sustainable option that will lead to the granting of amnesty to members of the sect and develop a comprehensive victim support programme, “because a number of people are victims of the excesses of the Boko Haram. And as we try to address the issue of the Boko Haram, we must also comprehensively address the issues directly affecting the people. The committee must also come up with suggestions on how to address the underlying causes of the crisis, to ensure that as a nation we don’t face similar threats in the future,” the president said.
He continued: “The Federal Government is ready to work with you and any other organization to make sure that these excesses of Boko Haram are brought to an end so that as a nation it is issues of development not issues of conflicts, issues of peace not issues of disaster that will engage us.
President Jonathan, last week, announced the setting up of a committee to ‘constructively engage key members of the Boko Haram sect’ with a view to defining a “comprehensive and workable framework for resolving the crisis of insecurity in the Northern part of the country”.
The setting up of the committee ostensibly followed the recommendation of the National Security Council which met in Abuja to deliberate on the workability of granting amnesty to members of the Boko Haram sect.
Members of the committee headed by Minister of Special Duties, Mallam Kabiru Taminu Turaki include Sheik Ahmed Lemu, Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmed, Col. Musa Shehu, (rtd.), Sheik Abubakar Tureta, Senator Sodangi Abubakar, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, Hon. Mohammed Bello Matawalle, Amb. Zakari Ibrahim, Hajiya Naja’atu Mohammed, Malam Adamu S. Ladan, Dr. Joseph Golwa, AVM A. I. Sheh, Mr. R. I. Nkemdirim, DIG P. I. Leha, and Prof. Nur Alkali.
Others are Malam Salihu Abubakar, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Lugga, Barrister Ibrahim Tahir, Brig-Gen. Ibrahim Sabo, Amb. Baba Ahmed Jidda, Group Capt. Bilal Bulama, Rtd, Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi and Representative of SGF as Secretary. Two members earlier nominated, Mallam Shehu Sani and Alhaji Datti Ahmed rejected their membership of the committee, saying they were not consulted by the Presidency before announcing their names.
Speaking on the recent clash between members of the Joint Task Force and Boko Haram sect that led to the death of civilians in Baga, Borno State, President Jonathan said the incidence is being investigated and government will take steps to ensure that if errors were made, such people are cautioned and are treated in line with our own laws and regulations.
He enjoined members of the security services to ensure that in carrying out their duties, care should be taken to ensure that innocent parties do not suffer unjustly.
Speaking on the proliferation of small arms and light weapons, President Jonathan said the effect of small arms and light weapons “is worse than the effect of nuclear weapons, because most African states are so unstable because of the free flow of small arms and light weapons and we plead that the industrialized nations who manufacture small arms and light weapons and push them into Africa are not doing good to the world.
“The effect is as bad as the production and distribution of drugs because what the thrills of small arms and light weapons is creating I believe is even more devastating than that of drugs. Without the free flow of small arms and light weapons even the war against drug trafficking would have been easier in the states,” he said.
He charged members of the committee on proliferation of small arms and light weapons to “establish links and cooperation with similar institutions and agencies that help build capacity, enhance information sharing and develop multi-level international support relationship as well as strengthen regional cooperation”.
He further charged them to focus on putting forward policy suggestions even as it reviews existing ones and recommend implementation strategies to combat ilicit trafficking of small arms and light weapons as well as measures to enhance border security, propose legislations and regulatory framework to strengthen control of proliferation of small arms and light weapons in line with international standards.
The president noted that while his government will continue to do its best to guarantee the security of lives and properties in the country, it behoves on Nigerians to compliment the efforts of government by providing information that would be useful in combating crimes.
In his response, the Chairman, Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Security Challenges in the North and Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, said “members of this committee are prepared to bring everything that we have, our diverse experiences, our education, professionalism, tactics, skills and above all our integrity to bear in the work of this committee.
“We are not under any illusion that this will be an easy task, but we are resolute, we feel challenged by this enormous responsibility that has been given to us. I want to assure you and indeed all Nigerians that in doing and carrying out this assignment, we are not going to bring any presumptions, conclusions or assumptions, we are coming with open mind. I therefore want to appeal to all Nigerians to assist us with useful information to enable us carry out our assignment.
“Let me thank you and assure you that at the end of the day, we hope to come up with suggestions, recommendations that will assist you and the Federal Government to tackle the challenges in the Northern part of this country. The confidence you have reposed in us individually and collectively by the special grace of God will not be derailed,” he said.
Meanwhile Civil rights activist Comrade Shehu Sani has opened up on why he rejected President Goodluck Jonathan’s offer to serve in the presidential committee to engage the Boko Haram insurgent group, saying the government was not serious in its efforts.
He has nevertheless offered his Facebook page as a platform for those who want to engage on behalf of the government, saying that the insurgents would contact them as he observed that the insurgents are following him on Facebook and Twitter.
Sani who made name for his pioneering efforts in engaging the group and leading former President Olusegun Obasanjo to a family of the group’s slain leader, Mohammed Yusuf had last week rejected his nomination to serve on the presidential committee conceived by the president.
In two postings on his Facebook page yesterday, Sani said:
“When I took the personal risk and facilitated a dialogue with the insurgents, to end the violence in my country, the government threw away all my proposals because they ‘want to crush them by force’ and because they can’t talk to terrorists’ and that ‘I’m seeking self glory’.
“Now the government wants to talk to terrorists and I said I am not interested, Mr Okupe and his friends call me unpatriotic.”
In another posting where he said trouble shooters could use his facebook page to make contacts with Boko Haram, Sani said:
“My position remains unchanged. I don’t have time to waste with an un-serious government. But any of my friends who thinks otherwise and wants to offer himself to mediate between Boko Haram and the government can simply do so by posting on my wall his correct GSM number and home address.
The Boko Haram or the government will get in touch with him or her as surely the two sides are following me on Facebook and twitter.”
Besides Sani, another mediator Dr. Datti Ahmed, who was nominated to the committee also declined membership of the committee which was inaugurated by the president yesterday.
Meanwhile, Vanguard learnt from some members of the Boko Haram committee that some of them did not want to serve in the committee for fear of being attacked by the sect members.
Besides, Vanguard was reliably informed that the members felt slighted that the President did not consult them to seek their consent before announcing their names as members of the controversial committee.
Robbers cart away Adamawa flood relief materials
The local chapter of the International Red Cross made the donations.
By Augustine Ajayi
Relief materials worth millions of naira donated to flood victims in five communities of Adamawa state have been carted away by hoodlums, government officials in Yola said, claiming also, that the hoodlums could be political thugs.
The local chapter of the International Red Cross made the donations.
Confirming the attack, the state chairman of the Red Cross, who is also the permanent secretary in the state ministry of environment, Mahmud Abubakar, said the items carted away included kitchen sets, shelter kits, detergents, blankets and mosquito nets donated to five flood affected communities in the state.
Narrating the robbery to PREMIUM TIMES, an official of the state emergency agency who sought anonymity said: “we saw hell as these thugs attacked us with sophisticated weapons threatening us. They carted away with all the items, this is embarrassing.”
The event occurred, according to eyewitnesses, after the state deputy governor, Bala Ngillari, had received the donations, and had warned people living in flood prone areas to listen and comply with early warning reports of impending flood and relocate from flood plains.
It will be bad for anybody to be caught by the flood in the state again, said Mr. Ngilari, who commended the state Red Cross for its kind gesture. But no sooner had Mr. Ngilari and other dignitaries departed, than the thugs numbering about twenty, swooped, commando style, according to eye witnesses, armed with bottles, sticks, and machetes, descended on the venue of the distribution of the materials burgling the central store, and carting away with the donated relief materials.
Mr. Abubakar is miffed, trying to make sense why anybody wants to rip-off internally displaced persons, IDPs, in their predicament, and warning that government will be decisive in dealing with any person involved in such acts.
“It is unfortunate that undesirable elements can resort to such heinous acts. They stole the relief items including those meant for Fufore local government areas. This will not deter us in helping those in need.
“We are still following due process in getting the criminal. Parents should monitor their children and wards,” he said.
The state police public relations officer, Muhammad Ibrahim, said the command is yet to be briefed on the matter.

Women Who Eat More Bananas Get More Sons – Scientists
Women can influence the gender of their child with what they eat before they conceive, according to new research that lends scientific support to age-old superstitions about pregnancy. The study of 740 women showed that higher calorie intake led to a higher probability of a male birth.
The discovery shows higher calorie intake prior to conception can significantly increase the chances of having a son while women on restricted diets are more likely to produce daughters. Scientists at Britain’s Oxford and Exeter Universities, who studied eating habits of 740 women during their first-time pregnancies, say that their findings seem to back certain traditional links between diet and gender while disproving others.
“We were able to confirm the old wives’ tale that eating bananas and so having a high potassium intake was associated with having a boy, as was a high sodium intake,” research leader Fiona Mathews, a specialist in mammalian biology at Exeter University, told the Guardian newspaper. “But the old take about drinking a lot of milk to have a girl doesn’t seem to hold up. In fact, more calcium meant they were again more likely to have a boy.”
Mathews said the study pointed to a simple technique to influencing the chances of a male birth: Eating a bowl of cereal for breakfast. “If you want a boy, eat a healthy diet with a high calorie intake, including breakfast,” she told New Scientist magazine.
“Of women eating cereals daily, 59 percent had boys, compared with only 43 percent who bore boys in the group eating less than a bowl full per week.” The researchers said that a higher calorie intake prior to conception can increase the chances of having a son from ten to 11 boys in every 20 births, according to the study published in the Proceeding of the Royal Society B.
They said it could explain why male births in richer countries are experiencing a slight reduction

Pres. Jonathan awards $40m contract to Israeli company to monitor internet communication by Nigerians?
I put the question mark there because this is so hard to believe. President Jonathan wouldn't dare do this, would he? Below is the report from Premium Times
Here is a very important information for the 47 million Nigerian Internet users. Big Brother, in the form of the Jonathan administration, is watching you, and your communication is no longer safe.
It is one of the most far-reaching policies ever designed in Nigeria’s history to invade the privacy of citizens.
The Jonathan administration secretly, and in open violation of lawful contracting procedures, has awarded an Israeli firm, Elbit Systems, with headquarters in Haifa, a $40million contract to help it spy on citizens’ computers and Internet communications under the guise of intelligence gathering and national security.
Elbit announced the contract award Wednesday in a global press release but was silent on the Nigerian destination of the contract. Its general manager, Yehuda Vered, opaquely announced that “Elbit Systems will supply its Wise Intelligence Technology (WiT) system to an unnamed country in Africa under a new $40 million contract announced on 24 April… for Intelligence Analysis and Cyber Defense,” but effusively claimed, in the statement, that his company is “proud to be selected to supply this unique system, which is already field-proven, fully operational and customisable.
“Elbit Systems is a world leader in the fields of intelligence analysis and cyber defense, with proven solutions highly suitable for countries, armies and critical infrastructure sites. We hope that additional customers will follow in selecting our highly advanced and cutting edge systems in these fields as their preferred solution,” Mr. Vered added.
Multiple and very reliable sources in the administration confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES that Nigeria is indeed the “unnamed African country,” and with details from the Elbit statement, our sources say the contract will now help the Jonathan administration access all computers and read all email correspondences of citizens in what is clearly, an infringement on constitutionally guaranteed freedom of expression.
No single policy of this administration has so far affected, in one fell swoop, the lives of 47 million citizens, a third of the Nigerian population and about four times the number of voters who brought the president to power two years ago.
Nigerian netizens, the horde of active citizens that use the computer and Internet, are the 10th in a global ranking that make them 27 per cent of Africa’s total Internet users, far ahead of Egypt [19th global ranking] and South Africa [37th in global ranking].
The growth path of the Internet in Nigeria has also been dramatic, rising from a mere 200,000 Internet users in 2002 to 47 million this year, according to data from the Global Internet user, one of the Internet audit groups.
This development has not always gladdened public officials in Nigeria many who have expressed open displeasure at the use of the Internet by social media activists and the power of its possibilities as an empowering medium for popular communication. The calls for regulation have been loud in both the administration and in the Nigerian legislature.
The earliest hint that the Jonathan administration had desires to invade privacy of citizens surfaced ealy April when researchers at the Munk School for Global Affairs at the University of Toronto alerted the world that Nigeria, Egypt, and Kenya were deploying Internet surveillance and censorship technology developed by an American company, Blue Coat, which specializes in online security. Blue Coat’s technology will allow the government to invade the privacy of journalists, netizens and their sources. Its censorship devices use Deep Packet Inspection, DPI, a technology employed by many western Internet Service Providers, to manage network traffic and suppress unwanted connections.
Civic groups kick against DPI because, they say, it makes it possible for censors to look into every single Internet Protocol packet and subject it to special treatment based on content (censored or banned words) or type (email, VoIP or BitTorrent Protocol).
DPI not only threatens the principle of Net Neutrality and the privacy of users, civic groups say, it makes single users identifiable and, in countries that flout the rule of law and violate human rights, often exposes them to arbitrary imprisonment, violence or even torture.
While details of the Blue Coat contract appears to have managed to evade scrutiny up till this point, PREMIUM TIMES sources say the Elbit annunciation of the contract, opaque as it was, terribly rattled top administration officials – from the presidency to the National Security Adviser’s Office, and the National Assembly.
“The presidency had wanted this contract to be a top secret,” said one of our sources. “The presidency did not envisage that Elbit was going to make it public. Monitoring computers and Internet use is a contentious issue and the National Security Adviser had tried to keep the contract secret.”
Elbit says it will take it two years to complete the project, by which time it claimed, the administration will have “a highly advanced end-to-end solution, [to] supports every stage of the intelligence process, including the collection of the data from multiple sources, databases and sensors, processing of the information, supporting intelligence personnel in the analysis and evaluation of the information and disseminating the intelligence to the intended recipient…[that] will be integrated with various data sources, including Elbit Systems’ Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) solution and Elbit Systems’ PC Surveillance Systems (PSS), an advance solution for covert intelligence gathering.”
The administration had indicated in the 2013 budget that it would procure a Wise Intelligence Network Harvest Analyzer System, Open Source Internet Monitoring System and Personal Internet Surveillance System at a cost of N9.496 Billion ($61.26 million).
Now that the contract has been awarded to Elbit for about $40million, it is unclear if the National Assembly will raise questions as to what becomes of the extra $21million earmarked for the project.
Investigations indicate that in awarding the contract to the Israeli firm, no tenders or calls for bids were made just as there were no public announcements. The contract was awarded following a proposal from a single vendor who dictated the contract sum and the terms of the contract.
The procedure for public procurement of services as stipulated by the Bureau of Public Procurement(BPP), the Nigerian agency charged with the duty of ensuring transparency in all matters concerning government contracts, were largely ignored. In addition, there are no public records indicating that the BPP approved this contract.
The manner of award directly contravenes the 2007 Public Procurement Act. While the Act gives room for single source contracts, the Elbit contract met none of the requirements under which such special contracts could be awarded.
Section 47 (3) (iii) of the 2007 Act stipulates that single source contracts are to be awarded in emergency situations such as “natural disasters or a financial crisis”.
Presidential spokespersons, Reuben Abati, and Doyin Okupe were not available for comments Wednesday. They didn’t answer or return calls seeking comments.
Calls to Elbit’s headquarters in Haifa, Israel, were also unanswered.
Shari Clarkson, a spokesperson at the company’s subsidiary in the United States declined comments on the contract saying only Dalia Rosen, a spokesperson based in Israel, could comment. Rosen’s phone was unanswered.

I Have Sex At Least 8 Times A Day - Lady Confesses
I find this story really disturbing at the same time interesting. I read about it some days ago so i want to share it with my readers.
The 26 years old lady who identified herself as Ella, admitted she loves sex so much so that she enjoys it more than real food. According to the lady whose I'd Card revealed that she is a marketer with one of the new generation banks, she likes coming to the beach side which is very close her house, every evening to chill out and 'most importantly get laid'.
"See, I don't need money from any guy. All I want is good, hot sex! But my the problem I have with most of you guys is that you are not bold enough to ask a girl you just met for sex even though you all want it. Most girls want it too, they want you to just make the move to shag them, even if they are complaining or insulting you don't stop.
You know we girls pretend a lot.", she opened up. As if that was not enough, Ella threw the bombshell "I have sex with my boss every day in his office .
The chauffeur too every evening, but they can't satisfy me at all. That's why I have to come here every evening to get laid by more guys. I must have sex at least 8 times every day. It's like heaven!".
She also couldn't wait to complete this week's dose of 56 rounds of hot sex. She also acknowledged the fact that many would think it is abnormal, but she insisted that making love eight times a day can't really satisfy her. She believes that there is nothing wrong in being a sex addict. " All the men I have met always have to admit they can't cope with my sexual urge. I have sex about eight times on an average daily."

10 Signs That Your Girlfriend Will Make a Good Wife
Marriage is one of the most important journeys that a person can embark on.
It is life-changing and can be destructive if it is embarked on with the wrong person. You have to be absolutely sure that the woman in your life is someone you’ll be happy spending time with every day of your life, forever. Here are 10 signs that the woman in your life will make a good wife.
1. She’s Nurturing
A woman who will make a good wife has to be caring and nurturing. She’s going to be majorly responsible for the well-being of you and your children. She should be kind and compassionate, willing to take care of others without grumbling.
2. She’s Dependable
A great wife should be someone you can trust and rely on. She should be someone who will support her man no matter what, someone you know you can count on, come rain, come shine.
3. She’s Respectful
Disrespect is one of the major causes of marital dysfunction. The woman you decide to marry should respect you no matter what. She should respect your family and your friends, even if she doesn’t like them. She should be a respectful person all round.
4. She’s Humble
A proud woman will encourage grudges and nothing destroys relationships faster than malice. The ideal wife should be able to apologize even when she isn’t in the wrong.
5. She’s emotionally stable
The woman you decide to marry should be stable emotionally and otherwise. An emotionally unstable woman can’t handle the pressures of marriage. She should be mature and know how to handle situations without constantly losing her cool. You don’t want to marry a woman who will break down in tears over every little challenge.
6. She loves children
The ideal wife should love children. She should like to have them around her and willing to play with them always. This is a sign that she’ll be capable of taking care of the family you build together.
7. She can cook
She doesn’t have to be a chef but a great wife should be able to feed her family.
8. You have a lot in common
It can be the same kind of music or the same hobbies or even just a love of books. If there are things you both like to do, that’s a good sign you are entering a marriage of happiness and longevity.
9. You have great communication
There is nothing more important in a relationship than communication, and if you are considering making it official by marrying her, you have to feel comfortable talking with her about any and everything. The more you communicate with your woman, the less likely the two of you will get into arguments because you both will be able to talk about your problems instead of holding them in.
10. You can laugh together
Mutual laughter is an essential component of a strong and healthy marriage. Romance is much better if you can see humour in the little things and can have a laugh together.
Above all, you must remember that there’s no such thing as a perfect person so there can’t be a perfect wife. Love is about accepting that person you’ve chosen even with all their flaws and deciding to love them no matter what.
So what do you think guys? What other qualities do you consider necessary for an ideal wife? Share your opinions in the comment box. Thank you.
