Eva Alordiah involved in a car accident while thinking of her ex
Rapper and professional make up artist, Eva Alordiah, miraculously survived a ghastly motor accident on the 9th of July, past midnight, along Okota-Cele road, Lagos.
The rapper, who explained in a detailed note how the accident happened, disclosed how she has been battling with the re-occurring imaginations of her ex.
Read her narration below;
It was a crazy wake-up feeling yesterday July 9th. I practically didn't want to get out of bed cause I was so sick with the Flu. I had just flown back from Abuja the night before and it seemed perhaps, the only thing I got back from Abuja was the damn flu! I didn't even buy my favorite snacktime crunch, Kilishi - which I am still mad about by the way.
My head was hurting like hell, my throat was so sore I could barely swallow a thing. Santiago, my good friend was over at my apartment to pick me up for the day. Seeing my condition he asked that I stayed home and rest the day out.
"Hell no!" Trust me to have said that. "I just got back from Abuja," I said to him.."Four days straight, lounging. I have work to do, I have deadlines.." I said in a bid to fight the urge to stay home. Isn't that what I say all the time? 'Noooooo! No rest. I have work to do, work to do..' Oh dear!
One hour passed and it began to feel like I got better with a shower. I was even able to sit up and put some makeup on, cover those unsightly blemishes that appeared even more face-wrenching in my sick condition.
I got dressed and told Santiago I could drive myself to the studio. He didn't think I should, but I did anyways.
You know, I was already halfway across town to Sossick's when I realized this was a wrong decision and I really should have stayed home. But I forged ahead, my pretty little head hammering away with headaches, my temperature rising out of control.
Studio session was great! And it lasted a lifetime. We didn't get the perfect work inspiration until 9pm and it was worth it as always. But then that meant I was going to leave the studio late and drive all the way back home at a crazy hour of the night. At this time, my headaches had doubled up on hammer speed and my eyes were shooting fireworks through my contact lenses. I hadn't had a thing to eat all day except the cereal Santiago had forced down my throat in the morning, and a roll of gala that I couldn't fight off the temptation of eating. I love my gala.
But I didn't care about the headaches or the hunger at this point. 10:45pm.
All that pain was overshadowed by the amazing sound of the new music Sossick had just produced richoretting through the speakers. It wasn't a waste of time afterall! Yaaaayyy!
Time to drive home.
Here's how you know God is keeping you from trouble, on purpose.
I had driven a long-little distance away from the studio when I realized I must have forgotten my ATM card in the studio. 3bank accounts, only one ATM card all in the name of "Eva, thou-shall-not-overspend"- I couldn't imagine the thought of not having any ATM card at all. So I drove back, picked it up and head on again.
Could this have been the 8mins that saved me from something more life threatening?
Over time, I have gotten myself accostomed to driving at night, at the wrong hours, by myself. Did that automatically make me feel safe, or make it feel right? No. Not in this lifetime. So here I was, cursing under my breath through the seemingly unending traffic at 11:15pm along Okota-Cele roads, my head caving in with each bang of pain, my body shivering through several bursts of heat from my blood. I felt super sick! This was Flu + Fever + whatever else made me feel like shit!
I was held up in traffic caused my impatient Lagosians for almost 25mins before I hit the free road. I was like "Whoooop whooop! Can't wait to get home!"
And as I cruised along, my thoughts began to shift from my headaches and the fever to memories of my Ex.
For a while now, 5 days or maybe 6, I have thought about my Ex. Sometimes in passing, other times more intently.
We had had a nasty breakup, lifespan of almost 5months now and I was already over him. Or I tried to make myself believe I was. Truth is, I never really got over him. Never stopped caring, never stopped having flashes.
I have had the better part of 5months to evaluate why things got so bad, what I did wrong, how I could have been better - for myself, for him, for us. And trust me, I have done quite enough of beating myself up about it. I was wrong, in a lot of ways. I accepted that feat. I prayed to God about it. I told myself I had moved on.
Well, maybe I did.
For the most part, I hadn't written him an annonymous letter, or sent a text, or stalked his internet space- Facebook, Twitter.., like I normally would have. So in my mind, Whooop! I was good.
But here I was, driving in the dead of night, thinking about my Ex and smiling to myself as I saw his face like clouds in my head, his smile, his perfect white teeth, his curly hair, his eyes...
Then ----- Screeeeeeeecccccchhhh!!! BAM! BAM!!!!
Flash of light, my voice yelling "Jesus! Oh Jesus!" The car swerving out of my control, my tiny hands holding onto the steering, the handbrake, the gear - all at the same time!
BAM!!
And there I was, my life in front of me in a second. It happened so fast, I literally thought I was going to die. I felt blood rush to my head as I instinctively raced out of the car and into the street, which was filling up with people gathering to see if I was ok.
11:53pm
Fear gripped me. I began to say quick short prayers of thanks to God. Then my emotions crawled through me, shaking me up and breaking me out in tears. The area boys were milling towards me now, trying to offer help of any kind. I heard a woman say "Ha! O ma se oooo". Then the police. These guys always have a way of showing up don't they? Or did God send them?
Everything happens for a reason they say. Was this another ploy from God to stop me from meeting something even more serious than this accident? Or was this what had to happen for me to get the courage to place a call through to my Ex? Cause that's exactly what I did!
The policemen were kind enough to wait with me in the middle of the the street while I waited for the towing van. 20mins out and I was on my way again, continuing this journey home- only this time, sitting in the passenger seat of a rickety towing van with Santiago's wrecked car hunched to its rear.
And while I sat there, I picked up my phone and called my Ex. Amidst tears, tears that formed from not knowing why I was still alive and how so fickle life really was, tears formed from the rush of blood to my face with the shock of the accident, I told him - I Love you.
"I was thinking about you when I crashed", I said through sobs and a running nose. "I love you. I'm so sorry I do.."
"Are you ok? Where are you right now? Are you safe?" - He was asking.
"I'm fine, I'm fine. I'm in the towing van now tryna get home."
"Ikeja?"
"Yes," I said. Then just so I made sure he heard me, I said again - "I Love you"
Did it really have to take me crashing the car and almost dying to tell the man I loved how I felt. To face my fears of a bad breakup and goodbye-forevers. To acknowledge the fact that even if my head said I was over him, my heart still beat a nanosecond faster than normal for him. *sigh*
1:40am
I pulled up to my estate gate in the towing van and there he was, waiting for me! My baby - that's what I would have called him 6months ago. I had to fight the realization that he was currently my Ex. But that didn't matter. He drove the distance to get to me at long minutes after 1am just to make sure I was ok.
He was right here! All I did was place a call to him and he came speeding down to be with me.
I am not at this point trying to say he loves me still, I am not in anyway saying his coming over is a sign of signs.. All I know is he came! Less than 40mins after I placed a call to him, he was right here. That's faster than the Nigeria Fire Service!
Oh dear!
He held me, looked into my eyes.. My knees wobbled under me. My headaches seemed to be far off as they gave way for happy thoughts to sieve through my fuzzy shocked brain. He hugged me. He stayed a little while longer to make sure I was fine and settled in.
I looked down at his feet and the biggest smile that could part the red sea enveloped my lips. He was wearing slip-ons we had bought together, "His and Hers"
I was wearing mine too! In this moment, On this night. What are the odds, that we both would have been wearing our "His and Hers" slip-ons on the same night. I refuse to call that a matter of simple coincidence! Or was I just overwhelmed with emotions that I was connecting the dots with everything? Was I just overjoyed at seeing him again that wearing the same slip-ons we had bought together, which long months ago would have been so regular suddenly felt like snow falling from the skies in Nigeria?
*sigh*
It reminded me of a lot. Times we shared together, times we laughed, times we were happy... And times we were sad.
Then we had to say goodbye..and I broke down in his arms crying..not cause I was sad. But because I held his hand and it was the most perfect thing in the world to be alive.
I'm alive now. Yes, Dear Satan, can you beat that!???
God has got me. My life's purpose isn't accomplished yet. God is still at work with me. He loves me. The car I was driving was a little car, it could have tipped over. I could have flown out of the car through the windshield, big Eva hair first. I could have lost a hand, bumped my head, had a concussion. I could have died. But I am here, to face another day, many more years.
So while I am here still, able to type this.. I would like to say thank you to you for being here as always. Friends, Family, brothers, sisters, colleagues.. Fans. I love you. I couldn't express that enough.
And to my Ex.. Whose face I saw in the last moments of what seemed to be the end of my stay in this Vanity filled world...
"I am sorry, again. For everything. If I could take it back, I would. I would take back every moment I made you sad, every time I disrespected you. I would take back every time I pushed you so hard to the wall that you felt like you couldn't control your anger.
I would take back everytime I bought you a gift to apologise for my wrongs or cover up my neglect.. I'd replace those material things with an unending beautiful love filled with praise and adoration.
We were so good to each other, yet so bad. We lost such a beautiful love and I was too impatient with you.
You were here for me, gave me your time, your love, your attention- placed me high above other women..
I was selfish, sometimes. I let the hurt and the fear of losing you take control of my emotions till I eventually lost you. I made you so mad sometimes, Damn I made you mad! OuucCH.
I didn't have to look death in the face to realise this. I have learned a lot in the past 5-6months of being away from you. I am a better person.. I am better with myself, my works, my art, my music..everything's changed.
We may be apart now, but it doesn't change what we had.
If I could do it all over again, I would- only this time better. Today I have learned not to think and worry about what you did that hurt me, but to acknowledge what I did that coulda made you do what you did.. And how I can be better from there.
You looked so handsome last night. And your smile! Oh your smile could shatter a thousand shield glasses held together. I miss looking at your face. I miss you. If time and chance never bring us together again, I want you to remember "I Loved you once, I Loved you twice, I loved you more than Beans and Rice".
God bless you always!
*PS: as you share this on Twitter/Facebook/Friends/Links/Emails.. Abeg abeg, I take God beg you..nor do make he reach my mama and papa hand. I couldn't bare to tell my folks I had an accident. They'd lock me in their house for the rest of their life! LOL.
Thanks for reading.
Love,
E.
Nigerian Company Pays Clinton N100m To Speak At An Event In Lagos
Just to speak at an event in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, a Nigerian company paid the former American President, Bill Clinton, $700,000 (over N100 million), the New York Times disclosed on Thursday.
The New York Times did not disclose the name of the company which handed Clinton the huge sum of money.
Clinton, since he left office, has visited Nigeria many times, the last two being a guest speaker at the launch of Eko Atlantic City and Thisday Awards.
America’s influential newspaper did not also disclose when the money was paid but said Bill Clinton made $17 million (N2.5 billion) from speeches last year alone.
The disclosure was made as the newspaper revealed also that Hillary Clinton will be paid $200,000 to offer pithy reflections and Mitch Albom-style lessons from her time as the nation’s top diplomat.
“The $200,000 she commands appears to be comparable to what Bill Clinton receives for speeches delivered in this country, though Mr. Clinton — who earned $17 million from speeches last year — has collected much more outside the United States, including the $700,000 he was paid when he spoke to a company in Lagos, Nigeria,” The New York Times said.
Some of the businessmen who had invited Bill Clinton to Nigeria include Nduka Obaigbena, publisher of ThisDay newspaper whose workers protested in May 2013 for being owed months of unpaid salaries.

Olamide becomes first Nigerian ambassador for CIROC
With almost every relevant Nigerian artiste out there signing endorsement deals, isn’t it baffling that Olamide who’s like hottest rapper number 2 hasn’t signed any major deal yet?
Ponder no more! Sources tell princezzofnaija Olamide has signed a multimillion Naira endorsement deal with alcoholic drink Ciroc Ultra Premium vodka and will become the first Nigerian ambassador for the alcoholic beverage.
Olamide’s management has yet to respond to our queries but inside sources tell us that the deal has been signed and sealed already. ‘The money had to be sent in three parts, that’s how huge it is‘, an insider tells us.
Ciroc, produced and distributed by Diageo is looking at promoting their brand in West Africa after launching in 2011.
By signing Olamide as ambassador, Ciroc is adopting the similar marketing model practiced in the US; the likes of French Montana, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Ray Jay, Funkmaster Flex are all ambassadors for the drink
Woman Kills Gay Husband For Affair With Servant
With blood-stained hands and clothes, 33-year old housewife Uttam Devi walked to the nearby police station of Gokupuri on Tuesday afternoon, invariably attracting eyeballs from neighbours and strangers alike.
Once there, she confessed to having killed her 43-year old husband Dhanpal Singh by thrashing him to death.
When asked that why she had committed such a heinous crime, Uttam claimed that all her efforts to change the s*xual inclinations of her gay husband had proven futile and she was left with no other choice except killing him.
“He had an affair with a domestic help who used to work at their house. Uttam was upset over the matter and had warned him many teams,” a news report quoted the investigating officer of the case telling.
“On Tuesday, she was infuriated when she caught her husband and the servant in a compromising position.
In a fit of rage, she started banging his head on the wall till he died,” the cop further said.
That homosexuality still remains a taboo among the masses, despite Supreme Court’s ruling decriminalizing it, cannot have been more palpable than in present case.
Cops at Gokulpuri police station have been reportedly told by one of the relatives that Uttam used to mercilessly thrash her husband owing to her skewed ‘s*xual habits’.
“He (Dhanpal) had been brought back from a hospital in Loni on Monday.
He had to be admitted after he was severely beaten by his wife and several of his relatives over the same issue of dating a man,” cops informed.
Uttam, as it is learnt, was Dhanpal’s second wife. He reportedly had two children from his first marriage.

Court Convicts Governor Sule Lamido’s Son For Money Laundering
Aminu Sule Lamido, the 34-year old son of Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, who is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for offences bordering on money laundering was Friday convicted by Justice Fatu Riman of the Federal High Court, Kano, and ordered to forfeit 25 per cent of the undeclared sum of $40,000.
But the governor’s son won’t be serving any jail term. He will walk free after forfeiture of the 25 per cent of the undeclared sum.
Aminu was arrested on December 11, 2012 at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport on his way to Egypt for failure to declare the $50,000 in his possession. He only declared $10,000 to the Nigerian Customs Service.
When he was arraigned before Justice Riman on Monday February 4, 2013, Aminu pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded in prison pending hearing of his application for bail.
The charge against the accused reads: “That you Aminu Sule Lamido on or about 11th day of December, 2012 at the Mallam Aminu International Airport, Kano within the Jurisdiction of the Federal High Court while transporting in cash, the sum of $50,000 (Fifty Thousand Dollars Only) from Nigeria to Cairo, Egypt, falsely declare to the Nigerian Customs the sum of $10,000 (Ten Thousand Dollars Only) instead of the said sum of $50,000 (Fifty Thousand Dollars Only) as required under Section 12 of the Foreign Exchange (Monitoring and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act Cap F34 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 and Section 2(3) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 2(5) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011”.
At the resumed hearing on February 5, 2013, Justice Riman granted the accused person bail in the sum of N8million and two sureties in like sum.
In the course of trial, which got underway April 19, 2013, the prosecution called four witnesses and tendered documents which were admitted as exhibits. One of its witnesses, Sanusi Ahmed who is an operative of the EFCC, told the court that the accused person only registered $10,000 in the Nigerian Customs Declaration Form only for a search to reveal that he had $50,000 on him. He identified the Customs Declaration Form when it was shown to him. The document was accepted by court as exhibit 1.
The two witnesses called by the defence are the Chief Press Secretary to the Jigawa State Governor, Umar Kyare and the wife of the accused, Samira Aminu Sule.
At the last adjourned date, July 9, the court reserved ruling for July 12, after the parties had closed their cases and adopted their written addresses.
In convicting the accused person, the trial court held that the defence had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.

N17.5m Theft: Stock Broker Bags 30-year Imprisonment

Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo of a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, on Thursday, sentenced a 37-year-old stock broker, Ayoola Coker, to 30 years imprisonment for stealingN17.5 million belonging to his clients.
Coker was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to the charges during his re-arraignment on a 15-count charge on Thursday.
Justice Onigbanjo convicted Coker on all the 15-count charges of stealing, issuance of dud cheque, forgery and alteration preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Coker was sentenced to two years imprisonment on each of the counts, which the court ordered should be run concurrently, starting from December 1, 2011.
The judge, while pronouncing the sentence, noted that Coker made efforts to make restitutions to the victims, Mr Saheed Gbadamosi and his son, Taiwo, adding that Coker had transferred the title deed of his landed property at Idimu, Lagos worth N8 million and a car valued N1 million to the victims.
“He was arraigned earlier on June 6, 2011 and pleaded not guilty. The voluntary changing of his plea to a guilty plea has demonstrated sufficient remorse as to warrant the leniency of the charge,” the judge held.
The EFCC counsel, Mr Taqiyudeen Aribi, had alleged that Coker, sometime in 2010, fraudulently sold numerous shares worth N17.5 million which were kept in his custody by his clients.
He alleged further that Coker forged a Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) statements which he used in facilitating the fraud, adding that the convict issued two cheques of N1 million each to the victims which were rejected by the bank due to lack of funds in his account.
Coker’s counsel, Mr Soji Toki, pleaded with the court to be lenient in sentencing his client because he was a changed man, adding that he had been in prison custody since June 6, 2011 after his previous arraignment because he failed to perfect the bail terms given to him by the court.

Canadian teen mauled after she tried to kiss a Lion in South Africa (Photos)
A Canadian teen got a little too close for comfort to a lion she was helping care for in a South African rehabilitation facility when the beast tried to drag her into its cage by the legs.
Lauren Fagen, 18, was volunteering at the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre when she leaned in to kiss the beast's fur.The Montreal girl was then pulled into the animal's cage, her legs gnawed and gashed by the lion and its mate, before she was finally dragged away by a lifesaving fellow volunteer.
It began as a dream. Fagen was all set to attend McGill University in the fall and wanted to indulge a lifelong passion for animals.
She travelled to the Limpopo province of South Africa to work with the animals at Moholoholo, a center established in 1991 for the rehabilitation of wild African animals like rhinos and honey badgers.
But Fagen wasn’t feeding 5-year-old Duma, a male, when the attack occurred. She was leaning in to kiss its fur, reports the Canadian Globe and Mail.
‘I didn’t realize he could stick his paws through,’ Fagen said of the powerful feline.
The lion grabbed her and dragged her legs into the cage, where it began tearing at them.Itsmate joined in, as well, by pouncing on the girl’s feet.
‘I should have died or lost a leg. It was a miracle that I survived,’ she said.
Fagen said the big cat was being ‘very, very friendly’ before the attack hinting she may have been lulled into a false sense of safety.
And she told ABC News via Skype from a Pretoria hospital that she still thinks the lion meant no real harm to her.

Mob sets robbers ablaze for stealing recharge cards
An angry mob has set three suspected armed robbers ablaze in Ikotun, Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro learnt on Thursday that the robbers were set on fire on Wednesday evening, shortly after robbing a recharge card trader at Second Junction bus stop on Governor’s Road.
Our correspondent, who visited the area, observed burnt tyres, carcass of a burnt motorcycle and some human flesh on the side of the road.
The recharge card trader, Ese Akporhono, who had a bandage on her head, told our correspondent that the robbers came to her shop posing as customers.
She said a few seconds later, the suspects pointed a gun at her and stole recharge cards worth N400,000 before fleeing.
She said, “Around 5pm, I was closing the shop when the men approached me saying they wanted to buy recharge card.
“Before I knew what was happening, the men brought out guns and went into my shop, They stole recharge cards and money. I engaged them in a struggle and attempted to prevent them from fleeing. They overpowered me and used the butts of their guns to hit me in the face and head.”
Our correspondent learnt that the robbers allegedly snatched a motorcycle and shot a man in the area and were fleeing when a motorist knocked them down.
An eyewitness, who requested anonymity, said a bystander prevented them from fleeing as he pelted them with stones while they were attempting to stand up.
Other residents quickly joined the bystander and grabbed the weak robbers, beating them up to a pulp.
He said, “After the vehicle knocked them down while they were attempting to escape, we seized them and beat them to a pulp. The crowd grew larger and this attracted the attention of policemen.”
Our correspondent learnt that a team of policemen from Ikotun Police Station stormed the scene and attempted to rescue the robbers but were overwhelmed by the mob.
It was learnt that policemen even fired gunshots into the air but the mob remained adamant.
A woman, who runs a bar in the area, said another team of policemen also arrived from Area M, Idimu, but the mob set the robbers ablaze.
She said, “The policemen came in a patrol vehicle and asked the crowd to hand over the robbers but they refused because they did not trust the police.
“Another team of policemen also came but the crowd ignored them. Some of them (crowd) got tyres, placed them round the robbers’ necks and set them ablaze.
“They however handed over their guns to the police.”
When asked why the residents took laws into their own hands, the woman said there had been an increase in robbery in the area and the police had failed them.
She said, “It is because armed robbers have been terrorising us that is why we close our shops early. Last year, a pregnant woman was robbed and killed in this area.
“We cannot continue to fold our arms. By this act, robbers will be afraid anytime they think of coming here.”
Akporhono told our correspondent that her recharge cards were still with the police and they had refused to return them to her.
“Police are holding my recharge cards as exhibit, I want them back because I am the victim,” she said.
When contacted on the telephone, the spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, said she was aware of the incident and promised to call back.

Naija Big Girl Kills Herself After Her Facebook Lover Wed Her Friend
This is what you get these days when ladies only love men by what they can see; no true love again!
A big girl identified as Nkechi who hailed from Onitsha, Anambra State but settled in Asaba with her parents after graduation while searching for employment, got involved in Facebook Love at the centre where she was learning Computer.
Somehow she met a rich young man online, a Nigerian. The man decided to disguised himself as a ‘cripple’ to her whenever he arrive Nigeria, but he is actually a lawyer trained in the United Kingdom...
It was gathered that after series of chats, the 'cripple' asked for her hand in marriage and Nkechi immediately accepted, not knowing that the man will disguise as a cripple to test her. After their relationship which lasted about seven months online, the young lawyer, who was identified as Henry (surname withheld), returned to Nigeria on a wheelchair.
Nkechi, accompanied by her friend, went to the airport to welcome him, but was shocked to see him on a wheelchair and when he begged her to marry him, she refused.
According to reports, Nkechi continued to refuse his proposal, despite his pleas and a visit to her house. She also did not listen to her friend. Her friend, identified as Onyinye, a fashion boutique owner, living somewhere around Infant Jesus area of Asaba, was shocked at her friend’s decision after pleading with her to reconsider her "wheel chair" lover, but Nkechi refused.
Unfortunately for Nkechi, her friend Onyinye started feeling pity for Henry's condition, not knowing that the man is not actually a cripple. Onyinye thus accepted to marry Henry since Nkechi has turned him down.
Consequently, whisperNaija.com gathered that Henry went ahead to finalise wedding plans with Onyinye. They had the traditional marriage and white wedding last weekend in Asaba.
However, at the wedding reception, Henry got off his wheelchair to the amazement of all and told everyone present that he was never a ‘cripple,’ but had to disguise himself because he was hoping to get married to a Nigerian lady who would have genuine love for him, irrespective of his "condition".
It was jubilation all the way and people started praising Onyinye for being a virtuous woman.
When the news got to Nkechi to her lover was actually not a cripple but just testing her, she collapsed.
Disillusioned 30-year-old Nkechi, a graduate of Micro-biology later committed suicide due to the shame that her finacee, who she met on Facebook, had gotten married to her best friend.
In her suicie note, Nkechi wrote:
“I have gone to rest as I cannot stand the situation after the house I built has collapsed. This is a lesson for single ladies; never reject any suitor, so that you don’t end up dead.”
The Police in Delta State confirmed Nkechi's unfortunate action, her parents are said to be in shock.
