Lionel Messi Sidelined For Two To Three Weeks.
Barcelona forward Lionel Messi will be sidelined for up to three weeks after pulling his right thigh muscle in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Almeria.
The reigning World Footballer of the year hurt the right thigh muscle minutes after scoring Barca’s opening goal of Barca’s record Seventh consecutive victories at the start of the La Liga season at Almeria.
The injury means the prolific goalscorer will be ruled out of Tuesday’s Champions League trip to Celtic Park.
It is Messi’s second leg injury of the season. He missed the second game of the season after bruising his left thigh and also missed several games at the end of last season with a right hamstring pull.

In addition to the Celtic match, Messi will likely miss Argentina’s games against Peru on Oct. 11 and Uruguay on Oct. 15 as well as two Spanish league games against Valladolid and Osasuna.
