One dead, 3 policemen injured as armed robbers attack filling station in Bauchi



A robbery attack on a petrol station in Bauchi State has left one person dead and others injured.

The attack occurred around the Federal Low-Cost Housing Estate in Bauchi and resulted in the killing of a local vigilante member while three policemen deployed to the area sustained injuries.

According to reports, two vigilante men were guarding the filling station when the armed bandits launched the attack. One escaped unhurt.

Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ladan, who confirmed the incident, told newsmen that the policemen were injured during a gun battle with the bandits.

He said: “The hoodlums attacked the filling station, where they killed the vigilante.

“Three policemen sustained minor injuries in the encounter.”
